  1. Sorry for the late response, my power went out... Well, looking at my options, I'm actually planning to upgrade to a small form factor PC that will hopefully be more future-proof than a laptop. Going to be building my own this time. I'm worried that since this laptop strains while playing vanilla fallout 4 on high graphics, it will be even worse with Skyrim Remastered + mods. I don't know much right now because they haven't released the requirements and probably won't until about September. If the parts I have my eye on run this guide to perfection (it's actually very similar to the Author's Specs) I won't even worry about Remastered unless they do something epic to it!
  2. Oh... Ok. So maybe I should just abandon the graphical enhancements and such and go back to the basic STEP guide with some of this guides gameplay enhancements? At least until Skyrim Remastered comes out?
  3. Any tips for how I can fix this, or do I just need to restart the guide and use most of the lower options for landscape textures and flora? I heard that using the Injector version of ENB Series is better for laptops, but that wasn't covered in the guide, and when I went to try it for myself, there was no ENBHost in the injector folder. I can play the game, but it seems to use too much of the disk and will occasionally CTD.
  4. I finished with this guide, following everything to the letter and added about 6 unconflicting mods, but when I get into Skyrim, I experience a lot of stuttering, temporary freezes, and FPS drops. I run about 16-20 fps interiors; 12-19 outside. My system specs are as follows: MSI GE-72 Apache Laptop, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M, Intel Core i7 5700, 16 GB RAM, 4 GB VRAM. I've made it use the Nvidia card as the main card for Skyrim, and have tried every fix I can find on Google. I'm pretty sure that these topics get tiring, so I apologize for the inconvenience.
  5. Thus far, an astounding experience. Thanks for your help in this post! I'm going to play (finally) and have some fun pushing my boundaries a little bit!
  6. Alright. Will do. Found it, and set up. I'm about to try the game again now. It took me about 7-10 mins to freeze, so I will report back on the fix.
  7. Having finished modding and actually launched the game today, I get most of the way through creating my character when the game freezes. The crash fixes window says this: Skyrim has failed to allocate memory! Possibly running out of memory. Size / alignment of object being allocated was 1398256 / 16.
  8. Ok. Will take my time finishing up and may post progress/problems later on today... Getting pretty close to my very late bedtime.
  9. Thank you for all the help. I never even thought of making individual patch folders like that. I will give it a try and hope I don't mess up. It'll be a little bit because I'm backing up my 42GB mods folder. Maybe if I have another rage-erase moment, I won't have to re-download all of them over again.
  10. Sooo... I wont absolutely HAVE to do the entire process in the CR subguide? I was feeling my heart sink just looking at that thing! Lol!
  11. Ok... So, I haven't downloaded my extra mods yet, but I am back to the conflict resolution part of the guide... Should I go ahead and create my other profile and download them prior to doing all of the major patches and fixes? IE: conflict resolution, DynDOLOD and TexGen patches, bashed patch, etc.
  12. Ok! I will finish with the downloads and use the copy profile method, thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping to play before the end of the year! Wish me luck! (please)
  13. I was thinking more along the lines of 2030, but close enough.
  14. Yeah, that was another rage-erase time... I used the STEP Guide for my next trial (awesome and super stable, BTW), I just wanted... more... and found Neovalen's guide. And have proceeded to work on it for the past 6 days. While dreaming of dragon blood covering my character during the nights.
  15. I was thinking about the separated profile, do I just re-run the stuff in Author's Recommended Fixes section? Believe me, I tried the caveman style trial and error, I ended up with a lvl 40 unplayable save. Lol!
  16. I would like to use these mods, can they be safely included into the SR:LE list without any conflict, or are there special modifications I would have to do in order to have them in it? Khajiit Speak: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14513/? (I only use this when I use my Khajiit playthrough, is there a way that I would be able to activate and deactivate it when switching characters without causing issue?) Glowing Arrows v2: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5811/? Glowing Arrows v2 - Patch Collection All in One: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77116/? Same Walk and Run Speeds: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9553/? Glowing Ore Veins 300: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/193/? Aemer's Refuge: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37450/? I am on my 3rd reinstall of this guide after discovering errors I had made previously. I hope that this time I have done it correctly so that I can actually play the game... On my first, I got to the testing stage, started creating my character in RaceMenu, and froze twice. No CTD, just freeze. I was drunk, it made me mad, so i cleared EVERYTHING. :( :( For this one, I have followed the guide religiously (and sober) so I hope to have my permanent mod list this time. Any and all help would be much appreciated.
  17. I have followed every step in the process thus far, but when I try to install Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul, Mod Organizer gets to about 2% of extracting files when a Data Error windows pops up, followed by an Installation Cancelled window. I try to install it again, and it pops up the Merge/Replace window. I don't know what I did wrong, but I cant go any further in the guide. Please help!
  18. I am having a slight problem though, A Matter of Time's widget nor MCM are appearing in-game... I have tried waiting, running LOOT and other suggested methods, but no dice so far... is there a way to fix this?
  19. Oh ok.I put them together on a trial list + STEP and my game has been pretty much rock-solid. The game looks beautiful in all aspects and runs like a dream! Thanks so much for this very comprehensive guide!!
  20. I have followed the STEP 2.2.9.2 install guide -almost- religiously. Installed all Core mods, some of the ones not listed as Core, and did all of the things in the patches section. I loved what I saw when I entered Skyrim for the first time in 3 days. But I have been attempting to use mods for a while, and I miss some of ones I used to use. I primarily play a female Khajiit, so the mods that I would like to use are: Khajiit Speak: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14513/? Extensible Follower Framework: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12933/? A Matter of Time: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/44091/? Elysium Estate: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33939/? Hearthfires Multiple Adoptions: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29249/? Same Walk and Run Speeds: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9553/? Go To Bed: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67763/? Glowing Ore Veins 300: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/193/? The Bond of Matrimony Override: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76889/? and its optional file. I just need to know if I can include these mods in my list, I have already copied the STEP Core list I'm using and created another MO Profile with it; I also need to know which patches I need to run again after installing them, if I can. Thank you for your time.
