Well, I do have multiple profiles, and have about 100 plugins installed now. I've done some uninstalls, and deactivated some mods after experimenting with them. Not outrageous choices of mods -- almost all quite popular and well-reviewed -- but a fair lot of them, and I don't always do it right -- learning curve. My laptop was really good three years ago -- so now middling at best. My load time had become quite slow, and while I haven't been been crashing much recently (used to have more problems with CTD before I figured some things out), I was and am still looking for ways to optimize my game. Activated the Skyrim Memory Patch yesterday, as well as ENBoost, which have both seemed to help. I ran the Save Game Script Cleaner this afternoon after reading GSDFan's advice, and it has helped my load speed tremendously. I believe it got rid of about 1300 orphaned scripts and broken references. Enjoyed playing the game where I could actually walk out of an Inn and have just a few seconds wait to load.
