  1. ok, i just went through the first 2 graphic sections of STEP (Conflicting and Landscape/Environment). i installed 1024 where available and i'm having no crashes in game so far. i was even able to start a new game and get through Helgen. before i crashed on the wagon as i always hit 3gb RAM usage.
  2. would there be any benefit to running DDSopt?
  3. NMMÂ sad that I have 12gb of RAM sitting here begging to be used for something...
  4. I just completed a 100% STEP install. I made the mistake of using the highest available texture resolutions for every mod. I am now getting the 3.1gb RAM crash in several areas. Would it be worthwhile to try and install the lower/medium res textures over my current install, or would I be better off starting all over (not what I want to do).
  5. i think this may be the same problem i had under the post about 1st person view not working correctly. the issue was with the Maximum Skeleton install. i used NMM and there was a prompt during the install asking if i had Joy of Perspective installed. i clicked "yes". after troubleshooting here on the forum it was suggested that Maximum Skeleton might be the issue. i uninstalled it and everything went back to normal. i then re-installed and selected "no" (as i should have initially) for the question about using Joy of Perspective. everything works perfect now.
  6. on my initial install of Maximum Skeleton and accidentally selected "yes" when the installer asked if I was using Joy of Perspective... 1 simple mistake resulted in hours of heartache.... lol THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. i have been sitting here for hours troubleshooting. i had just copied my Skyrim folder and was getting ready to re-download vanilla and start troubleshooting 1 mod at a time. i decided to check this forum one final time (haven't received an email notification about your post yet)... i uninstalled the XPMS Maximum Skeleton mod and it fixed everything!!! you just saved me a couple days of re-downloading, installing, and troubleshooting... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. i should also add (figured it was a separate issue and needed it's own thread) that i get a crash to desktop 100% of the time on a new game start on the wagon. the farthest i made it was stepping out of the wagon. there are no error messages just a hard crash to desktop. i disabled all mods and still get this crash. when installing texture mods i opted for the highest quality as i have SLi 2gb 670's. i forgot about the huge hit my 2560x1440 resolution puts on the vram. i assumed the crash was due to vram overload and i would have to start over with lower res textures. i decided to try Another Start mod to make sure it wasn't just a Helgen issue. no matter where i start a new game with this mod i have zero issues (other than the 1st person view problem) and get 60 fps.
  9. i just disabled all mods started a new game and still had had the same problem.Â
  10. I just completed a 100% STEP mod install on top of a fresh Skyrim install. When I switch to 1st person I can not see my arms or weapons unless I look at the ground. Also, when moving forward the camera looks to the sky as soon as I hit the "w" key. When aiming with the bow the camera pulls to the left (the bow shoots in the direction I was facing before the camera moves). I have tried adjusting the FOV to no avail. I have deleted and let the game repopulate my INI files, and that didn't work either. Everything works as it should in 3rd person. notice how small my bow is: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002504 this is looking at the ground: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002478 when I hit "w" to move forward the camera looks to the sky: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002523 here I have my bow drawn and it is aiming to the right but the cursor and camera shift to the left: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002542 this is the exact position as above only in 3rd person: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002563 Â this is a 2 handed great sword. note how tiny it appears: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158002621
  11. i'm having the exact same issue as the OP. did you ever figure this out? i have tried adjusting the FOV and removing the INI tweak for Camera. also while in 1st person and trying to move forward my character instantly looks to the sky. i have followed the guide 100% and have no other mods installed. i have a brand new Skyrim install as well.
