Thanks I'll double check that now - Ta.

Okay I've conducted multiple experiments. I crash everytime in 3 places. 1. Crash in Forge With SR:LE, Apocalypse, and SPERG I crash, also with just SR:LE. However when I use CCO mod manager thingy to make the crafting list shorter, ie just weapons, there is no crash. So this is just crafting menu overload. 2. Crash with Spriggans Everytime I fight a spriggan I crash. This happens with SR:LE, Apocalypse & SPERG; and also with SR:LE & Apocalypse. I will try fighting spriggans with just SR:LE plain and see how I get on. 3. Crash fighting a couple of necromancers in a tower near Falkreath Everytime I fight these spellcasters I crash. This happens with SR:LE, Apocalypse & SPERG; and also with SR:LE & Apocalypse. I will try fighting them with just SR:LE plain and see how I get on. I assume 2 and 3 are related to spellcasting, so Apocalypse is (hopefully) the cause. Otherwise I did something wrong with me SR:LE installation. I never seem to crash in other situations and I always consistently crash in locations 2 and 3 (and any spriggan does it, not specific spriggans). As for removing SPERG - yes I did it totally and deleted my override folder and redid the SR conflict patch, based patch and SUM from scratch.
-
Okay - so I uninstalled SPERG and apocalyspe magic, then deleted the conflict patch, bashed patch, asis and dual sheath, then deleted everything in my override folder, then reinstalled asis and dual sheath and ran all the things Neo says to get a stable version of SR:LE. I then started a new game and did exactly what I did in my crashing run through, and guess what! After telling myself how quick and stable it all was, I then crashed at exactly the same place as before! So it had nothing to do with SPERG and ApcoaMagic. This is an issue with my installation of SR:LE. The crash location is in the forge at Fallkreath - when I look into crafting leather.
-
I had done as part of installing SR:LE, however I can no longer do this as I can't get TES5EDIT to load all the mods any more. Oh god I hope I don't have to start all over again!
-
Great Advice Smile. I fixed the location of the patch.esp above, then ran TES5EDIT with all ticked and followed the resulting suggestion about SPERG and another mod in SUM. However, now when I run TES5EDIT I get: Background Loader: Fatal: <Exception: "SR Conflict Resolution.esp" requires master "RealisticWaterTwo.esp" to be loaded before it.> Which is weird because according to the order of the esps in BOSS & WyreBash, SR Conflict Resolution is one of the last to load (No. 89), well after Realistic Water Two (No. 81). I tried to make a SUM rule anyway but SUM won't let me or I'm doing it wrong.
-
I installed SR:LE successfully, and then tried to add the two mods I have been looking forward to: SPERG and Apocalypse Magic. According to my research these should have been compatible and, by installing those two mods and appropriate patches, then running Boss, a new Bash Patch, FNIS and SkyProc everything should have worked when I started a new game. These are the SPERG esps I am using: SPERG.esp SPERG-DG.esp SPERG-DB.esp SPERG Immersive Armors.esp SPERG Weapons and Armor Complete.esp and I'm also using Apocalypse - The Spell Package.espDwemerverse - Dwarven Magic Package.espAll sorted by BOSS. Except Apocalypse - SPERG Compatibility Patch.espWhich is not recognised and I think I'm probably supposed to BUM it somewhere but not sure where. Result: constant crashing! Does anyone have any idea for where I should begin to look for the problem?
-
Fixed! I had in fact installed the Joy of Perspective version of XP32S. This is because the earlier version of that mod actually auto-installs the Joy of Perspective version for some blasted reason. False alarm - and maybe now I can actually play!
-
I've just installed SkyrimRev: Legendary Ed. - followed all the instructions exactly and finally finished. But the first person view does not work! I float up above the floor and when I press forward it jumps up. The third person view works fine. I figured this was a problem with my installation of XP32Skeleton or FNIS, so I reinstalled the skelly mod and re-ran FNIS but no change. I have no idea what I did wrong - the only shortcut I used was downloading the completed conflict resolution patch instead of building my own. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this? EDIT: searched and found someone else with similar issue https://forum.step-project.com/topic/5254-fp-camera-problems/ However I'm pretty certain I didn't accidentally download the wrong version of XP32S.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
jacktannery replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Thanks for help above Neovalen. I installed Chesko's mod and was able to merge Vividian esps without problem, but only after I ran BOSS to sort the files so that Chesko came before Vividian. I have another query. SkyFalls and SkyMills - Animated Distant Waterfalls and WindMillsBOSS Masterlist Update Required: (Updating Guide) SkyFalls DB + FS Small Waterfalls.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp According to BUM when I follow these instructions it says the rule is Invalid and the item is marked in red, because 'Sort object (SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp) is defined in the userlist but this rule needs to be moved after it.' Is this ok, or have I done something funny? -

Hey there, I'm following your brilliant guide with great success. Only one problem: At Vividian - Weather - Lighting Enhancement, installed correctly but I can't merge the esps because TES5EDIT won't finish loading the files. This is because Vividian Wearable Lanterns.esp is missing it's master (Chesko's wearable lanterns), which is not supposed to be loaded until much later. Have I done something wrong? -

Two quick questions about DDSopt Texture optimising with Skyrim Revisited: 1) why is the Skyrim Revisited instructions for Optimizing The Bethesda Textures (https://wiki.step-project.com/User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited) so different from the STEP Guide instructions (https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:DDSopt_%26_Texture_Overhauls#tab=Introduction)? Is one better than the other, or are they interchangeable? 2) the Skyrim Revisited instructions for 'Optimizing The Bethesda Textures: Step 1 extracting the files' don't make sense to me: "Click the red [X] to deselect all files. In the center text box, type "*.dds" and then click [Apply]. Click the green checkmark to select all filtered files. Clear the center text box and click [Apply]. Click the [Process] button in the bottom right corner." When I follow these instruction, for example with dawnguard.bsa, I end up with a load of *.dss files checked and then a load of other types of files unchecked. So why go to the trouble of the step: 'clear the center text bos and click [apply] if you are not going to select any of the files? I feel like I am missing something important. -

Extremely stupid question probably. After installing Skyrim Redesigned my skyrim game now shows a little white number in the upper left of the screen. I think that this is the framerate (it is usually 60 indoors and 35-45 outdoors)? Which mod installed this? (I don't really want it - it breaks my immersion) or is it a feature of the ENB? Perhaps there is a key to turn it off? I've never seen it before when playing with modded skyrim. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
jacktannery replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
@Trikosuave, no not really. What I did was to erase everything totally and start again from scratch, but this time I only used those mods that didn't have lots of complicated things to do: for example I left out the big-boob body one from that dodgy russian website; the book covers; bring out your dead; anything with varients or requiring SUM (the duel stuff), broken bottles thingy, and so on. I only installed the easy stuff and I was far more careful to get the Tes5Edits correct. The second time around I realised that I have made many errors all the way through in my first attempt. Most importantly, I used 1k exterior textures mostly rather than the 2k ones I had downloaded the first time. I think that this made a huge difference. I also have a 7970 Radeon card and it runs really really fast with 2-4k interior textures and 1-2k exterior textures & ENB so that's what I recommend. I am now able to play the game perfectly (and keep gasping at the stunning beauty of it!) and was even able to install SkyRe and Apocaplyse Magic over the top without any significant trouble. Of course the moment I finished SkUi 4.0 came out but I am too scared to try it in case it breaks everything! I don't know exactly what it was that I did wrong the first time to cause the crash, but I had made so many errors that various things would have broken in hundreds of places had I found a way to continue. For me, I'm glad I had the courage to go back and start all over again skipping the trickiest ones that I wasn't too fussed about anyway. I'm a lot more confident about installing mods now too. -
wanted Installing ASIS and SkyRe with some additional stuff
jacktannery replied to Iroha's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I am trying to follow this guide but I have run into a problem and would love a little help. - I've installed Skyrim Revisited (leaving out lots of trickier mods - I am NOT using Automatic Varients or Duel Sheath Redux for example) and it works (!!) - I've installed Skyrim Redone from this guide ONLY (ie not duel, or asis, or any of those complex mods) up to Stage 10.X At this point I am able to start the game and play thought the intro no problem. However, as soon as I attempt to install and run the ReProccer thingies the game CTDs on startup and I can no longer play. I read through the rest of this thread and I think it might have something to do with me having both SUM and REPROCC ESPS (?) but I can't rename sum.esp to reprocc.esp because I already have a reprocc.esp. Three questions: 1) do I even need to run and install the ReProcc thingies to play the game if they are very complicated? Or will I regret it later? 2) Other people on other forums seem to have no problem using the ReProcc thingies. But they appear to be doing it in a much easier way than me - for example I am following the guide in the OP (I am using Mod Organizer) which seems to make it very complicated (I have both SUM and REPROCC and I'm never sure what I should be using or not). I think it should be simpler for me because I don't need SUM otherwise because I don't use Automatic Variants or Duel sheath Redux ; but no matter what I do as soon as I install and run the ReProccer I can't play anymore. 3) One final question - when I start the game in Mod Organiser, should I have all mods and esps and bsa's ticked? At present I have: (i) all mods ticked on left panel (ii) all esps ticked except the ones unticked in Wrye Bash (step 29 of OP): ie, Reproccer.esp, Sum.esp, MoveIt.esp and Traps_make noise.esp are unticked. There are lots more confusing unticked mods here if I install and run the reprocc thingies. (ii) I only ticked the BSAs that had the danger sign. Other bsas remained unticked. Is that correct? I hope that was clear. I apologise for my terminology, but I have learned a huge amount following these guides so thank you very much Iroha. UPDATE 1: I can install and run the normal ReProccer (Step 11) and run the game fine when I completely remove SUM from my computer (thus ignoring this guide). So that is another step closer to success! UPDATE 2: I can even install and run the Balbour and Steelsouls Reproccer and play the game - only one problem left! - the bloody patches. UPDATE 3: And I finally managed to install the final patches correctly, then I made the bashed patch correctly (!) and then I ticked the boxes of the esps of the last three patches (????) and the game actually loaded! I think I did it! I can finally play Skyrim after spending a week on these cruel mods. Even though I managed to unwittingly solve this by myself (the problem was basicaly SUM - I had to search in all different folders and delete it everywhere it appeared in my computer before the game would work - bizarre), the very act of posting my problem here in this thread gave me the confidence to try and work it out for myself - so thank you all very much anyway! -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
jacktannery replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Thanks for your fast responses guys. @rootsrat - oh dear! Do I really need to re-download EACH FILE! Can I not just use the original file download? It is still in my download folder. It's the download that's the worst bit with the nexus so temperamental. Great advice in your post overall however I came here from attempting STEP on Wrye Bash, which was too complex, so the experts sent me here instead. @mokuro89 - yes I know but since I intended to begin at Helgen why bother with Live Another Life at all? @trikosuave - no I carefully did not. In fact I was generally really good and careful, checked and rechecked everything with WB and Boss and the problem, whatever it is, is not anything as obvious as that. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
jacktannery replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I have a brand new computer so reinstalled Skyrim, tried STEP but failed (Wrye Bash!) but was then directed to Skyrim Revisited. I have followed all the instructions as best I could over three stressful days (with plenty of mistakes, particularly using Tes5Edit – oh dear) and have finally completed. First – a huge thankyou to Neovalen for a brilliant and extremely detailed guide. Unfortunately – my installation did not work! When I start a new game it always crashes entering Helgen by cart during intro (same place every time). So I started the game without mods and made a PC, then saved a game. I can load up this saved game with my Skyrim Revisited and play! I went through the entire introduction without any problems at all (everything was amazingly beautiful) but then when I left Helgen Keep at the end of the Intro the loading screen stayed forever and Skyrim was unresponsive (had to turn off computer at mains). I also tried to enter the showracemenu through the console but the game crashed as soon as I entered the command. In summary, three crashes with Skyrim Revisited only  - entering Helgen on cart in intro  - using console to showracemenu  - leaving Helgen Keep at end of intro (not a crash – just an endless loading screen) So I have a few questions: I realise that I could completely reinstall each mod individually but obviously if there is an easier way it would be better! a) I did NOT install Live Another Life as I wanted to begin at the start. Could this be what the problem is? (because I did not follow exactly Neovalen's instructions?) b) does this sound like a GPU/RAM issue?( I have a brand new i5-3750K with AMD Radeon 7950 HD 850MHz 3GB 8MB RAM and I only installed 2k textures (not 4k) so I would have thought my computer could handle it). Also not using ENB (or ENB fixes obviously). c) I did make errors with Tes5Edit – for example I didn't uncheck the 'Backup Plugins' box for the first ten mods. During the earlier parts I made many errors including pressing delete where 'remove' was not an option, being unable to drag some records, and so on – all because I could not find the UNDO button! Could these errors cause my CTDs? Do I have to start again from scratch? Or perhaps can I just reinstall those mods that had Tes5Edits to be made to them and redit them and drag them into the correct location in the list? d) Several of the mods on the list (eg. Bring out your Dead, Realistic Room Rental) seem to conflict with lots of other mods. Would it be better for newbies like me to avoid mods on the list with too many complications until we get a bit better, or is it going to muck things up if I leave some stuff out? -- Apologies for the long post; and I hope that I have posted this in the correct location. -

jacktannery replied to jacktannery's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just to let you know - I took your advice and have just completed installing Skyrim Revisited with Mod Organiser. It is MUCH easier to follow and understand than Wrye Bash for me - so thanks everyone who gave me this advice. Obviously the game crashed to desktop during the intro as I carted into Helgen, but I have no doubt I will eventually find out what I did wrong... So thanks again and this is indeed solved. -

Thanks. I'm really glad I asked here. I have always wanted to learn WryeBash since playing Morrowind and Oblivion many years ago - but I guess that day will not be today! Onto Skyrim Revisited then... -

Beginner at STEP, stuck at XP32 Skeleton
jacktannery replied to jacktannery's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks again Freya. I tried to follow this but I had trouble: 1 - I downloaded Categorized Favorites Menu Version 1.18 and placed it into my Bash Installers folder (am I supposed to rename the mod at this stage?) 2 - I downloaded the 1.18 BCF File and placed it into the Bain Converters folder. 3 - In Wrye Bash on the installers tab I right-clicked on the mod conversion>selected BCF>apply and it created a brand new mod with a slightly different name BUT an error box popped up to say: 'AttributeError: 'InstallerConverter' object has no attribute 'hasBCF'. I am having a slightly different problem with the high-quality 3D map BCF (also in Step 2E). In this case, there are three files to download from the nexus page (although the STEP guide only lists two confusingly) and I placed all three in the Bain folder. I then downloaded the BCF file and I only converted the file of the same name (also the only white one) - presumably that's ok - but then I had exactly the same error as above. Also, am I then supposed to delete the previous version of the file, or do I leave both converted and unconverted files in the folder and install both? -- I realise I sound like a total moron, but I have actually installed this mod very successfully with NMM in the past (and found the entire process very easy) however this time I am trying to do it right - its much harder! -

jacktannery replied to jacktannery's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Fantastic Freyrgjurd! Thank you so much for this wonderful tip - that is extremely helpful to know. Now I have moved onto 2E, but I already have an additional question. For Categorized Favorites Menu the STEP guides says that two BCF files are available. But I cannot find out what a BCF file is from the guide nor from google. Am I supposed to use one of the BCF files instead of the normal download from the nexus page? EDIT: I found it! Hidden away in the Wrye Bash Guide it says what I have to do with the BCF file. Steep learning curve this! -
With a brand new PC I am reinstalling Skyrim and using STEP with Wrye Bash (first time - very terrifying!). I have managed to get all the way to step 2D but have run into a problem. I am trying to install XPS Maximum Skeleton (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26800/?). STEP has detailed instructions (https://wiki.step-project.com/Maximum_Skeleton#Recommendations). I manually download this mod and place it into my skyrim mods/bash installer directory like all the other mods. However, this mod apparently has a bain wizard? (I don't even know what that is) Wrye Bash recognises the mod but it is white, so I click it and see it has lots of optional sub-packages. No-problem, because this happened before with 'Skyrim Project Optimisation - No Homes' and I just ticked all the boxes randomly and it seemed to work. However, in this case I suspect I am missing something because I cannot follow the detailed step instructions. To be specific: STEP refers to the mod's installer (as does the mod) but how do I run the mod's installer without using Nexus Mod Manager? Double clicking does nothing as there is no .exe file with this mod and there is no readme or installation instructions. I have read the entire Step Wiki twice and can't find what I have missed. What am I doing wrong? Hopefully I am not being totally stupid. EDIT: also now I am starting to be concerned that I have incorrectly configured the other mods that had sub-package files - I just ticked all the boxes - is that bad? EDIT2: actually I have the same issue with 'even better quest objectives. Actually this gives me a clue to the problem - on the latter mod download page the instructions say: 'It's as simple as downloading and using Wrye Bash, Mod Organizer, or NMM to install, and following the installer'. My question is: (for Wrye Bash) what installer? How do I trigger this automatic installer?
