So I found similar posts that had been answered after I posted this and the following was helpful: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/7512-crashes-after-activating-bed/ My memory tweaks were not actually functioning and I guess my ENB installation flubbed the first time. So thanks for the help and sorry for creating a duplicate topic.

I finished working through the SR:LE yesterday night. I'm able to create a new game, create a new character, configure all of the designated MCMs, but upon choosing a new life and activating the bed the game crashes to desktop. After all of the work I was too tired to mess with it last night. So this afternoon I went and made sure that all of the merged mods are disabled and I basically ran through the last section again. I discovered a few merged mods that hadn't been deactivated and I never went back and reinstalled USKP after running SUM. So I was hopeful that I had resolved my problem, but alas no luck.
