SKSE Error? New Skyrim Update?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank you all, I've not fixed it yet (but I'm sure it'll be simple), but Race Menu was indeed the culprit. *EDIT* Race menu is indeed the culprit, but updating/reinstalling does not fix the issue *EDIT 2* I was able to fix it by opening the console and resetting my height to "1". Not certain why the update moved my height to maximum "2" which made him a Giant, but that method managed to get my character back to normal size. -
SKSE Error? New Skyrim Update?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just checked forums, new patch for the game (1.9) hit today. It auto-updated my game, so I'm not certain if my game is broken from the patch, or from SKSE. Will try to launch vanilla and see what happens *EDIT - I disabled SKSE and just ran all the mods without SKSE, and my character returned to normal height. Re-enabling SKSE causes the same issue. Is the most recent version of SKSE incompatible with the update? Is anyone else having this issue?* -
Hey, this may or may not be the correct place, but wasn't sure. Â Game has been running stable for roughly a month now, fully STEP 2.2.1 with all quality mods installed. Â Today I got home from work and turned the game on, and it wouldn't load. SKSE said I was running a newer/incompatible version of skyrim. Â So I updated my SKSE, the game loaded (with a few errors from SKSE about log files), and loaded my save. My character is a Giant. Literally, he's the size of a giant, and I don't understand how this happened or how to fix it. Â I'm not sure if it was due to SKSE, or if there's even a way to tell.

Upgrading Step v2.2.1 to 2.2.2
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Using the same savegame between releases. I have MO, but I'm still doing my first playthrough of Skyrim. I've managed to get the game MOSTLY stable (I'm still having random ctds, MOSTLY in caves/dungeons that I THINK is related to the wearable lanterns mod, though I can't figure out why. I have had a random ctd at dawnstar, and once at falkreath). I'd like to keep step up to date, but I don't feel it's feasible to start the game over every two weeks, :-) -
I'm brand new to step as of a week or so ago. Â I just managed to recently (yesterday) get my game to run stable, and I see that they've moved to 2.2.2. Â What is the best and safest way to keep my current game and move to 2.2.2? Is there a guide or a process to be followed, as it said updates will now be bi-weekly? Â

Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I don't have much time as I've got to head to work, but I set mine up just like yours, with the executable pointing at tes5edit, and it still doesn't work through MO, wont even show up. Â And outside of MO, it doesn't see the mods. -
Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ty, that was somewhat succesful. Â However, the process still does not allow TES5Edit to "see" the mods... when I run boss in MO, I followed the steps so I can run BOSS as an executable, and it works/sees the mods. Â However, whenever I try the same for TES5, as soon as I click "ok" on the "executables" tab, TES5 does not appear in the dropdown list like BOSS does. -
Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
No, I ran them externally. Â I'm not aware of how to run a program from WITHIN MO, as it only tries to install it as a mod. -
Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?

I did that before I wrote on the forums, as I had seen that suggested as a possible fix. It was not able to fix the problem :-/ -
Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I used MO to install the mods, and followed step directions (or if there were no specific step directions, then the mods') exactly. Skyrim is installed into its default directory, steam/steamapps/common/skyrim -
Updating to Dawnguard and Dragonborn - How?
AsheRayne posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ya'll have been really really helpful here at STEP.  With some guidance from a few people on here, and after 14 hours straight, I have modded my Skyrim to looking almost real.  I have every single mod installed and am using the highest quality settings I could, and it's simply phenomenal.  That being said, I installed it all using the newest update to skyrim, and have Hearthfire already. I am lvl 36 in game, and have over 100 hours into it.  I would like to get dawnguard/dragonborn without having to start the game over again. I was lucky in that my current save games are stable with the step mods, but I'm worried that updating will cause issues, so, to my questions: 1) Do I have to spend another 14 hour day deleting all my mods, reinstalling skyrim and reinstalling all my step mods, or can I upgrade the game with no issue? 2) Can I use my current modded saves, since I'm only adding DLC but not modding anything else, or do I need to revert back to the previous save that I used as my start point for STEP? Thank you again for all the help, I wanted to ask with about a week's notice before I purchase so I have time to work out any kinks on the forums here.  Thanks again! *edit* I know that some may suggest "cleaning" the save, but an unrelated problem I have is that I cannot use BOSS for load order OR Tes5edit for cleaning. I followed step examples exactly, but for some reason, neither BOSS or TES5Edit see ANY of my mods. I've googled and searched till my fingers bled, and nothing seems to point to why. It's not an unregistered version, it's installed correctly, all the mods work great, but I can't edit the load order with boss because it only sees MAIN, UPDATE, HEARTFIRE, and 3 resolution esps. As I said, unrelated, but I have a feeling I'll need this sorted before I move on with my purchase. -
rgr, so undo read only, edit the ini, then relock it, install mod? Seems legit :-) Thanks for the help. Been at it for several hours this morning, attempting to do the highest quality available through step on each and every mod.
-
Well, I'm looking at the flora and fauna overhaul, and that also has the "punish your machine" edition. The punish your machine quality states that the .ini has to be tweaked... though isn't much more descriptive than that. My system can handle it, I just didn't know if I should bother.
-
Step guide states that the .ini file should be "read only" after the .ini tweaks are in place. Â This wont conflict with any mods later on, i.e. do any of the graphics mods change .ini settings, and would making it read only affect the installation of said mods?

Did that, it works, but there are three different spots in MO where there is SKYui... the "installed mods" page on the left, the ESPs tab in the pane on the right, and then the BSAs tab on the pane on the right... the BSA is the one that has the red triangle...when I check it on that tab, it goes away, do all three need to be checked? or is there a redundancy there? I promise I wont ask any more, lol, when I get off work tonight I'm going to research MO in depth, but this is part of the issue I was having last night where the game would CTD based on what was selected. It feels like there are redundancies in the tabs, and the same items are showing in three different places. Thanks again! (NMM was alot more straight forward, and I knew how to use that, but step says it's no longer supported, so I switched to MO last night)

Question about 2.F Conflicting Graphics
AsheRayne replied to AsheRayne's question in General Skyrim LE Support
tyvm! That's all I needed -
I was unable to get SKYUI to propery unpack in ModOrganizer, so I used NMM to install it, and then imported it to MO, which worked. However, on the BSA list, it shows there (SKYUI) with a red triangle/exclamation point next to it. Is that something to be worried about? I know nothing about modding, and had read that you should select "delete the bsa" after installing in MO, but since I used this method, it was not an option.  MO states that it needs a program (NCC I believe it's called) to unpack SKYUI and mods like it properly, however, it also states that it has to be installed to the MO directory.  But no true directory is created on my pc when unrarring MO, it simply makes a folder on my desktop with some loose files.  Yep, I'm a noob, so no need to point it out, but thanks for any help you can offer!

I have a question, and as I'm writing from my phone it's easier to write ask here rather than try and search, please forgive me; in the new (and most likely the old) step guide, under "2.F Conflicting Graphics". Do we choose one mod from that list, or do we install all of them, in order, and overwrite conflicting files as we go down the list as I'm assuming the two HD (skyrim and serious) will affect the same files? (I'm new to modding, and already have had to overcome a few issues that weren't necessarily explained in the guide, so I figured I'd ask ahead of time now :-) ) *Edit* I'm using Mod Organizer.
