I am attempting to get DynDOLOD to work and I am using the Alternate Start mod to start at the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood. Upon leaving the inn, there is either an endless loading screen or the game freezes when crossing the bridge going towards Whiterun. The game works without the DynDOLOD Resources, LOD Textures, and Output files activated in Mod Organizer. There were no error messages in the TexGen file. I could not find any “SHESON_DynDOLOD_LODObject <“ lines in the Papyrus file that the DynDOLOD readme file said to look for. It was Khajiit Speak that was causing the problem.

I found out what was causing the tree problem: I had installed a more recent version of the Skyrim Flora Overhaul than what was recommended by the STEP guide. The flickering on distant mountains is still a problem.

I just installed STEP v2.1 and gave it a test run. I noticed that some tree trunks now look yellow and some have bands of yellow like someone has painted a ring around the trunk. In addition when moving the snow on distant mountains flicker. I made the changes to the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini as suggested in the Guide:Z-Fighting but it did not make any noticeable difference. Shadows from trees also flicker a little when you are moving. I just have the STEP mods installed plus Alternate Start - Live Another Life (I did not install Dual Shealth Redux, Better Shaped Weapons, and Fores New Idles in Skyrim as I feared that I would not be able to figure out how to install them correctly) . One thing I was not able to figure out was how to set the Global Priority in LOOT for ELE_Legendary_Lite.esp and RelightingSkyrim_Legendary.esp. I have a Skytech Shiva Gaming PC Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 2600, NVIDIA RTX 2060, 16GB DDR4, 500G SSD. Thank you for your help. I have found the instructions (under "detailed instructions available") on the STEP guide as to where to place the optimized texture files for the DLCs and the High Res texture packs. However I cannot find any instructions for where the optimized STD (Skyrim - textures.bsa) file goes in the load order. I had it behind the 3 optimized HighRes texture files, but I will move it up so it is behind the cleaned update.esm.

I had this same problem too. I thought it was because of Immersive Armors. During the opening cart scene, Immersive Armors would be updating the armor in the game. It seemed like as soon as Ralof and Ulfric’s armor changed, the cart began flipping around. Sometimes the cart would be sideways when it got to Helgen and no one could get out and the game was unable to proceed. I loaded the Alternate Start Live Another Life mod and let Immersive Armors and other mods update while waiting in the cell with the statute of Mara. As soon as everything finished, I picked the start choice that I got caught sneaking across the border. Ralof and Ulfric's armor was already changed and the opening cart scene worked perfectly.

Thank you! The conflict was with Enhanced Distant Terrain 2 and LOOT put A Quality World Map before it. I moved A Quality World Map after it and the map has roads on it now.

I recently installed all of the STEP files (except for Dual Sheath Redux which seemed too complicated for me to try to install the first time around) and everything seems to be working perfectly except for A Quality World Map with Roads and the High Quality 3D Map. I installed the mods using the Mod Organizer (and reinstalled several times) and when that did not work I followed the instructions to manually install A Quality World Map with Roads by copying the texture folder into my Skyrim data folder. However my map does not have roads on it and it doesn’t appear to be "high quality." Any help would be very appreciated!
