  1. Here's the troubling thing about it - the save is outside Bleak Falls Barrow, in the Skyrim worldspace. The last saves (from the last character) were in Ysgramor's Tomb, Riverwood Trader, Solstheim, and the White Phial. It's as if the game picks a point in the save where every save afterward is corrupted, no matter what cell it occurs in. This would suggest a script as the culprit, as you said. I don't have a clue as to how to pinpoint which script could be causing it, and deactivating the mod with the script still present would not remove the script from the savegame (if it is a script at all).
  2. I realize the author recommends against it, but I've done for quite a while before this issue. He does not recommend it for balance reasons, more so than stability. As to disabling mods, the save will not load then due to missing data. The thing is that it's not just one save. It's everything after a certain point (a point that varies from game to game that I cannot determine). I would disable the Requiem mods, but the game would not load due to it missing the data. The crash always does the same sort of thing: when loading, it stutters for a second, then resumes, and then crashes a second later. The thing is, I can load the saves in Riverwood with the same load order, and one more save on the way up to Bleak Falls Barrow with no problem. Then I get to the cell, do whatever it is I do, and save. If I load that new save, it crashes, but the game lets me play fine otherwise. As I said before, I had 235 hours in that last save with a slightly different Load Order before I got the issue there. It's extremely puzzling.
  3. Alright, this is a very unclear I've had with Skyrim the last two months that I just cannot figure out. Earlier I posted about another separate issue I had that I fixed by reinstalling to a different directory, and I thought that might help with this issue as well. It did not. Most of the reason I was ticked at that issue, honestly, is because I was trying to fix this issue at the time. The issue is that the game has started to refuse to load saves. Not all saves, certain saves. It seems that something triggers the save to not load at some unspecified point that I cannot figure out. I had a previous game with 235 hours logged into it (the game was actually very stable, with very few crashes throughout) that began crashing (on loading only, not ingame) after I got halfway through Ysgramor's Tomb during the final Companions quest. I had a save that loaded at the beginning of the tomb, and I could load that one and play just fin. Any save I made after that point, however, crashed on loading. It didn't matter where I was-in the tomb, Solstheim, Riverwood Trader, the Reach-no matter where I went, if I saved and exited and then tried to load it later, no dice. I abandoned that save, reinstalled the game to a new location, and changed my mods. I updated Requiem, I removed a few mods I didn't like, replaced them with a couple of better ones, and so on. I got my game right for a new game, that is. It worked fine, I could play without any issues. After I got to Bleak Falls Barrow, however, the issue resurfaced. Any save I load after reaching the exterior of Bleak Falls Barrow crashed. I could load my saves in Riverwood just fine. The load screen will progress as normal, then after about ten to fifteen seconds, there will be a quick stutter, and right after the load screen resumes it will crash. The mystery here is this: 1. This issue has been present through two different load orders. 2. This issue seems random on when the game decides that the save is unusable. 3. The game does not crash during gameplay, only on loading the save. That is, I can play completely fine on the save, exit, and upon loading it the game crashes. I've tried disabling mods to see if the game will load (I disabled all of them but those related to Requiem), but that doesn't work. It's almost as if the game has decided that the save is corrupted (it's not, there is no corrupt save message at all) after a certain point or after something is saved into it, so disabling mods is pretty much a crap shoot. Most of the mods I have I've used for a long time, way before I had this issue, and I've tried to compare the .esps from the different saves to see which were different, but like I said, it appears that the save will crash anyway, no matter what .esps are loaded. The damage has been done. Needless to say, this makes the game unplayable because I cannot advance. I do not expect that much in the way of solutions to be brutally honest. I'm pretty much ready to leave Skyrim behind if this issue cannot be fixed, because I cannot advance in the story. Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to offer any help. Load Order (there is usually a Bashed Patch after the Merged patch;I just now noticed it was disabled when I pasted this list, but it is normally enabled): Crash log (useless, I know, but might as well try it I suppose):
  4. Okay guys. So after all this time testing out various strategies, I reinstalled the game completely and re-added my mods, loading it each time between additions to make sure it loaded. It's working so far through Riverwood. Now I can see if my old crashing problem comes back up-that'll get its own thread soon I'm sure. Until then, thanks for all of your interest and posts to help me out, y'all. I really do sincerely appreciate it.
  5. You can get the refID for an NPC one of four ways: by clicking on them, by looking it up in a list online (obviously not helpful for mods), using this tool for TES5Edit, or by typing "save funclist 1" into the console. The last method will display ALL refIDs in the save though, so you will have to look through it to find your desired NPC. The first method is the most surefire way to do it for mods, the last method is probably the second best. Another way to get the refID is load an older save where you can stand next to the NPC, click him/her in the console, then load your regular save. They'll stay selected and you can use console commands on them.
  6. You might have a mod that needs it, but yes, you do what you just said. I had that issue at one point as well. FNIS is usually the culprit/fix for this. The horse carriage has been known to be very wacky when your FPS is over 60 as well (usually it flies all over the place), so I think that's worth mentioning just in case your FPS is not set to below 60.
  7. Thanks guys for your responses. I appreciate any time taken to help me out. I did get rid of everything in my Data folder and verified, but I did not delete the vanilla BSAs for the base game. I will try that and report back. I deleted my .ini files in both the base directory and My Docs and verified/ran the launcher to get new ones, but it didn't help either. As far as overlays or anything like that goes, I don't have any. GeForce and Steam overlays are both disabled and I do not use any other monitoring programs. I got rid of my ENB, but I will double check and make sure all of the files are gone. I could very well have missed one or two.
  8. I'm just at my wits' end here. Honestly. I've been modding Skyrim for five years, modding Oblivion since it came out, Fallout 3, New Vegas, you name it. Even Morrowind. I've been doing this a while. But Skyrim, after I've figured every little insufferable issue before this, has decided that it was just done with it. Anyway, frustration aside, this is my last shot at getting help. I've been helping people on the Nexus forum for a while, and I'm fairly familiar with it, and I don't think anyone there has the expertise or desire to offer suggestions I haven't tried. Anyway, the issue is as it sounds. I cannot enter the Helgen Keep during that longwinded introduction sequence. Instant crash. I tried downloading some clean saves, both in the Keep and in Riverwood, instant crash on load. I disabled all of my mods, disabled my ENB, verified my game cache, cleaned my DLC, still instant crash on loading either the clean saves or starting a new game and entering the Keep. I figured out that it only crashes when Dawnguard is enabled. I've never had this issue before, and I've had Dawnguard since it came out. I had cleaned it beforehand and not had this issue, but I deleted Dawnguard.esm and the BSA, verified my cache to get a new copy of each, and it still crashes. I deleted my ini files in My Docs and the Skyrim folder, still crashes. I tried with just USLEEP and the DLC, still crashes. Right now, the only files I have loaded are Skyrim, Update, Dawnguard, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn (in that order, though I tried it also in the order that USLEEP has its dependencies, which I cannot seem to remember off the top of my head). I have removed every file from my Data folder except for the Skyrim BSA files, the DLC BSA files, and the ESM files. There is literally nothing in there but the official DLC and vanilla game. Has anyone encountered this issue before or have any solution? After all the issues I've had over the years, this is the one that is going to break this game for me. Thanks in advance for any advice, and I apologize profusely for any inconvenience or if this is in the wrong area.
