  1. I am having the same exact problem, I'd say probably 8/10 mods will fail downloading for me. As a workaround, I have been: 1. Downloading the mod files manually 2. Transferring the entire archive to a folder on my desktop 3. Using the "install mod from archive" function of MO and navigating to the folder and selecting the archive. Is this actually a correct way to do things or are my mods ending up in the wrong places? And does MO also work for mods that have no esp files and are just, say, meshes for example? Or should mods like that be installed manually?
  2. Oh I see, thanks for the response. Yeah I was going to opt for using SSME over the SKSE version because I'm not confident enough with SKSE yet to tinker with it. I just didn't realize that SSME was the same thing, so basically I just put the two SSME files into my skyrim directory and that's it I'm patched? I will also remove the SKSE stuff that I did now before I forget! edit: and just to clarify from before, I am "ticking" the boxes for Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfires bsa files under "archives" in addition to checking my optimized files? But am not checking the boxes for the High res texture packs?
  3. I went ahead and installed SSME, and just installed (I think) the Skyrim Memory Patch. What I did: 1. Downloaded "skse_steam_loader - PATCHED.7z", unzipped it. 2. Renamed my original skse_steam_loader.dll to skse_steam_loader_original.dll, and placed the other .dll file from the zipped folder into my skyrim directory. 3. Added the lines to the SKSE .ini file as mentioned in the STEP wiki. Did I do that all correctly? As far as SSME is concerned I just put the two files into my Skyrim directory as mentioned. There is something in the Skyrim Memory Patch thread about an .ini setting like: [Not Placebo] GiveFirstBornToSheson=1 ....is that something that I actually add to my skse.ini file as well, or is that a joke?
  4. Thank you both for the advice I appreciate it! The changes for 2.2.9 sound easy enough so hopefully I'll be able to manage that correctly. As far as ticking the DLC .bsa files, I thought in the wiki it said to leave those be and instead tick the optimized files instead? Or do I tick both sets of files? I did notice that the red flags went away when I ticked the original .bsa files, but I figured that was incorrect which is why I unticked them. I will definitely re-name my optimized files, thanks for the suggestion. I did actually do that initially (naming them "[name] DDsopt" but I got nervous that it may interfere with something so I changed it back. Is my SKSE alright even though it is flagged red under the "downloads" tab? And is it hard to upgrade from the SKSE that I have now to SKSE alpha for the Skyrim memory patch (and is that included at all in the STEP wiki?) edit: I actually just saw that in the wiki, would it be difficult to upgrade my SKSE if I went with the alpha version in order to get the memory mod? Thanks again for the help and sorry for all the questions, I just want to get things right the first time around! edit: and one last thing if you don't mind, should I be cleaning files with TES5Edit as I go, or should I wait until the end and do it all then?
  5. Hi everyone, I am currently in the process of installing STEP. I am using Mod Organizer and so far I have gotten to the end of step 2.C. Extenders. So far, I've followed the directions to the best of my ability and have already optimized my vanilla textures via DDSopt, and (hopefully) installed them correctly using MO. I have installed everything on the list so far including manually installing SKSE, ENBoost, and StableuGridstoLoad as recommended, however I skipped Optimizer Textures (the only thing I have skipped) because I figured it was redundant to have that along with DDSopt. So right now I am just pausing to try and make sure things are working correctly before I proceed. Things that I have questions with mostly pertain to MO. Linked are screenshots of how my Mod Organizer looks: https://i.imgur.com/8aNltSo.png https://i.imgur.com/1HJeqZt.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/ijR1cH7.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/PvNBu6K.png Does this look correct so far? Are there any obvious things that jump out as being incorrect? I am unsure why things like "Dawnguard BSA" is marked with the red flag...will that always be like that or is it an issue that I have to correct? The same goes for the red flag next to SKSE in the downloads folder, I manually installed SKSE and it currently works in booting up the game, so is that all set? Thanks for any help/advice!
