  1. Still no luck on troubleshooting. I have tried to install skyrim back into steam and I have unchecked every mod in MO except FNIS and everything is running as admin and I still get this error. I think maybe I could try using an older version of FNIS if Vista is unsupported or something. I already an using an older version of MO (the last one that works for Vista which is legacy version 6.194). My FNIS is version 7.4.5 but I am seeing older versions like 5.5 work for people in other threads. Dunno where I can get those files except from Fore himself. Might have to reach out to him if this is what is needed. Let me know if you have any ideas.
  2. Alright everything is running from my desktop. The bad news is that when I run FNIS I am still getting the same error. "ERROR(5): The directory name is invalid." I went ahead and disabled UAC in Vista and I still get this error. Again both MO and FNIS are set to run as admin. Ask me anything, Im going to keep troubleshooting.
  3. Okay I will go ahead and reinstall MO, the game, and all tools to a folder on my desktop and then try to run it with all things enabled. I will post the results. To save my mods I was just going to move MO to the desktop first, then reinstall skyrim to my desktop, then install MO, then move MO to the skyrim folder, then cut/copy the mods and downloads from the old MO folder to their appropriate folders in the fresh MO folder. I will setup FNIS and all the other tools as an executable and then run it to see how this works.
  4. I have the exact same issue as johnsmith. I am stuck using vista because of hardware contraints. Is there a definitive fix for this? I tried using the classic DEP fix for the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe but it doesnt let me add the .exe. It is set to sun as administrator. I dont have any antivirus installed also. Any ideas?
  5. Okay the good news is I only ****ed up my mods, the .nifs I changed dont belong to the base skyrim directory so I just had to reinstall.
  6. But how do you deactivate/reactivate base skyrim files in MO?
  7. Oh okay I understand that the VFS is generated from the overwrite folder, when you start MO. But I did make a mod with the overwrite folder, because isn't that what you access when you activate any program through MO, for example; Nifscope? I want the overwrite folder to have pure vanilla assets, not what I modded it to be. I want to refresh the overwrite folder to be pure vanilla again, if that's needed.
  8. I edited .nif files from one mod and I can reinstall that. However I edited some files from the base skyrim directory as well (but with Nifscope called correctly with MO). How do I "re-install" the base skyrim directory into the VFS. Where is the overwrite folder, or I mean, function for that in MO?
  9. I was basically editing .nif files using the program Nifscope - because I was trying to achieve something with HDT Physics. I loaded up Nifscope with Mod Organizer, like your supposed too, so I'm pretty sure I edited the virtual directory right? Not my untouched Skyrim directory? Anyways - I caused an in game bug and I want to reset the .nifs back to the way they were. Back to like a default state.... Is it possible to refresh my virtual directory, using my untouched skyrim base files, and my untouched mods from my mod folder? Specs don't really matter for this, its just a general question.
  10. Hey I use mod organizer and have hdt physics extension, CBBE body, and xp32 maximum skeleton installed. I look like this when crouching nsfw Not many mods since im just troubleshooting this but heres my boss (or LOOT) log I'm trying to figure out if should reinstall skyrim or if I installed anything incorrectly. My load order seems to be fine and this is at the very beginning of the game right before your hands are unbound. Did I screw up with FNIS? Any help?
  11. Okay, and I assume this all started less than a week ago, or maybe I am dreaming that it worked. I'll wait for the fix then.
  12. Okay I did that and BOSS was automatically added to my list of executables, and BOSS works when I run it. But the "sort" feature is still not working. Thats what I need to work here. It was working for me before a week or so ago, so why isn't it working now? I had the same version of BOSS (v2.20) for several weeks so it can't be the BOSS update. Unless Mod Organizer updated in the past couple of days and thats causing this issue??
  13. BOSS load order Unrecognized Plugins When I try to use the "sort" feature in MO it gives me an error saying "failed to run boss: Cannot find online masterlist revision number!" BOSS still works when I use the "run" feature from within MO. I need BOSS to autosort my mods this way, because I am having load order issues, and I failed at manually sorting them. In my attempts to get my mods working correctly prior to this issue; I have have manually deleted mods from the "mods" and "downloads" folder from my MO directory (and manually added mods to my "downloads" folder when they wouldn't download properly. In addition, I sometimes don't see mods that have been installed, in either my "mod categories" window or "plugins" tab. Several of them are missing, but will still be active in game. As you can see, I do have several unrecognized plugins, and I did send a plugin submission for each of them. However, the "sort" feature was working before, even with many of those plugins installed, so I don't know what could have started this issue. Any help would be appreciated.
