Please move this if this is the wrong forum. You don't seem to have a general discussion forum. I can't access nexusmods. There's no error.. the page just goes white and continues to load. I can load the page on my phone when not connected to my network which is really worrying to me because it may indicate I've been IP banned for no apparent reason. Even more disconcerting about that, is that I just purchased a 1 month pro account so I could speed up going through the STEP guide. Is anyone else having issues with their site? Does anyone know how I can contact an admin at Nexus mods to find out if it's just me and how to undo the ban (if that's what is happening)? Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm just desperate and don't know where else to look for answer. Edit: Nevermind. It's just my ISP.

Game stops responding when zoning
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ah, I see. Is that mod compatible with Step? Boss and SKSE etc? -
So, this has been happening with more frequency the longer I play. Sometimes, the game will just stop responding when I zone. It doesn't exactly freeze, and it doesn't CTD. The music keeps playing and the graphics keep moving, but it just never loads the zone and I usually have to ctrl-alt-del to get it to stop. Is there a cache file or something I need to clear periodically? Some way I can clean this up? Am I carrying too many items? Thanks in advance.

Enhanced Distant Terrain conflict
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yea that must be what happened. Ok so.. if I've already done everything and have been playing it the way it currently is (where I let the second one ovewrite the first)... can I just re-install both mods, re-boss them, and call it good? Or should I just leave it as is to prevent instability? -
Enhanced Distant Terrain conflict
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Right, but when you actually go to install them, the files are exactly the same name. So I got a conflict when I went to add the second one. That's why I'm wondering if I just need to change the label name on it so it doesn't conflict. -
Enhanced Distant Terrain conflict

Sorry to bump but.. does anyone have an answer to this? These two mods have the exact same name (though they seem to be different mods). Is it ok just to rename it when I install the second one? -
STEP v2.2.7 - Texture problem

Think you're gonna need a bigger picture... looks like you hotlinked the thumbnail not the actual image. -
Got a really game breaking error after following S.T.E.P.
bridgeburner replied to TheWiredWorld's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Check your difficulty settings. I'm not sure why, but when I first did step my difficulty was getting set to Master. If this is happening, go change it in the ini editor in Mod Organizer. There's a difficulty setting value that would be from 0 to 5. Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately it's set to 2 - like normal I believe. In Game is "Adept". Like, it's not the biggest deal in the world, but I severely doubt this is the only person in the whole game who's set to God Mode right now. It begs the question - is the Unofficial Patch really worth it? Because this is game breaking. Is there a console command for that?Hm. You might need to report the issue to whoever made the mod. I can see here.. https://www.iguanadons.net/Unofficial%20Skyrim%20Patch%20Version%20History.html Under Actor Fixes "Guards will no longer have doubled up damage perks which cause them to deliver one shot death blows even to high level players." Seems like that's having the opposite effect. -

Rubber-banding on some doors
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in General Skyrim LE Support
This actually seems to be connected to my other issue with collision. The sequence of events as far as I can tell is this.. Door opens, stuff goes flying and bounces around like crazy. If I try to do anything while this is happening, the rubberbanding happens. Have to wait for the physics engine to stop freaking out. -
Different location for ini?
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in Mod Organizer Support

Ok so, for some reason, every time I play my difficulty setting gets reset to Master. My ini files are read only, and I've double checked and the difficulty is set to 2 (which should be adept). And yet, whenever I load my game, I have to manually change the difficulty setting. Is there a mod that's doing this? Am I editing the wrong ini file?

So, this has happened to me twice now. Once in Bleakfalls Barrow by the spike trap. I'd try to walk through and it would keep bouncing me back over and over. I had to go around. Second time, in Saarthal. The first room with the 3 tombs where a door is behind the middle tomb. Couldn't walk through. And the guy I'm suppose to follow was having the same problem. Edit: Fixed. Solution was... turn vsync back on!

Something seems to be messing with the collision of items. When I open drawers or sometimes when I'm just walking up to a bookshelf, everything on it or near it will just go flying and then bounce around the room like crazy.. Edit: Related to https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=4471 Turns out the issue was cause I had vsync off.

How to use Boss Userlist Manager
bridgeburner replied to bridgeburner's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Do you have a tutorial or something? What do I set as the mod directory in BUM? Nevermind. Found it. For anyone else who comes across this in a search.. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#tab=Third_Party_Programs -
Did a quick google, because I'll probably need the same thing at some point. You can try this .. https://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2791993 It's how to turn on logging for skyrim, so there may be a crash error or something that will tell you wish mod is dying. DISCLAIMER: I haven't tried this myself yet, and it's the product of a 2 minute search, so use at your own risk.

So, there's an enhanced distant terrain in 2F. There's also one in 2G. When I tried to install the second one, I got a conflict about the mod already existing. Is this a case where I let it replace? Or should I have added with a different name? It didn't seem like what normally happens with NMM where you just replace the conflicting textures.. Thanks for the help.

I'd just like to confirm that I'm doing the Benchmarks correctly, because I'd like to help by submitting them at some point and want to make sure they're formatted correctly. 1) I run GPU-Z 2) I run fraps set to fps. 3) I play the first 4 minutes of the game (up until I jump out of the cart), starting fraps as soon as I hear sound. 4) After killing skyrim, I paste the FPS from the fraps log, the core clock and memory usage from the GPUZ log (after cleaning out noisy data) into a spreadsheet and have columns to give me average and standard deviation. Only part I'm confused about is there are fields listed in the guide which don't appear in the GPU-Z console for dumping. So are there other data fields I should be collecting for these Benchmarks?
-
Can someone link me to a page on how to use this? I couldn't find anything on the guide other than how to install it (though it wasn't marked as required). Is it really even needed? I've been running BOSS from MO every time I'm about to do a benchmark. Which I think is the right thing to do, although the guide doesn't really specify at which point BOSS should be used. Thanks in advance.

I've actually just been manually downloading the files from Nexus and adding them with the "open archive" button on MO.

Thanks! I'll report back if I have any issues. So far I think I'm only halfway through this process. lol. Hope it's worth it.

I have Skyrim installed on an ssd... is there any way to get the mods onto the ssd using Mod Organizer? Or are they being installed to the skyrim folder already?
