  3. I tried with both version 1.3.2 and 1.2.0, still CTDs.
  4. Could the fact that the Creation Kit comes with a lot of scripts also cause issues?
  5. I just completed the installation of Skyrim Revisited and followed every step, yet I get an immediate CTD on startup (Skyrim is pretty slow to load even though it's on an SSD and after a few seconds, before the menu options appear it CTDs) even though there are no missing masters according to WB and TESVEDIT loads without any problems. I tried disabling all mods and enabling them one by one, but since a lot of mods have patches that involve other mods, that process is VERY tedious to say the least. The game worked until I enabled Even Better Quest Objectives (both with just the main esp and with all the esps and the mods related to those esps). Could anybody help me out?
  6. Yes I can. The game runs fine with every mod until Even Better Quest Objectives which involves so many other mods and patches...
  7. Neither BOSS nor TESVEDIT give any warnings.

  9. Which driver works fine without fearing with only an FPS cap? 301.42 WHQL?
  10. I didn't use it for Skyrim, it was just to test out if there were driver-caused performance issues in other games.
  11. Sorry guys, I had no internet for a few days so I couldn't reply. So, I did some tesing with other games, with 32* CSAA, high quality AO, all settngs maxed out, including BF3, everything runs fine at almost constant 60 FPS (with vsync, only AC Revelations (a console port again) seems to have issues with VSync). So, I think that the problem is actually the VSync and not the VRAM, the scripts etc. But, sadly if I disable it and set a FPS cap or if I pick adaptive VSync, the tearing makes some games, including Skyrim, unbearable...
  12. I'm getting one big horizontal tearing line somewhere (anywhere) on the screen whenever I move the mouse up. I disabled VSync in the .ini and set it to Application controlled in the control panel. I think it may be a drivers issue since I tried out some games I didn't play with on my new GPU and I've got low FPS even in Darksiders (!) and some tearing in Anno 1404 (with VSync)
  13. Disabling VSync, even with an FPS cap set to 58, induces tearing lines. I'll try and sweep my drivers and install the new beta drivers (there have been many issues reported with the kepler drivers).
  14. I know this doesn't add to the topic but I'm the exception to this rule. my GTX 690 runs 2048/4096 unoptimized textures with 4xMSAA, 4x TrSSAA, and Quality SSAO @ 1080p and never drops below 75 :P (and I'd up the MSAA some more but it's better to match the MSAA with the TrSSAA) ALL GAMES CRUMBLE BEFORE ME!!! Edit: sorry for posting this but I had to somehow justify the $1000 purchase :P. this will be my last brag-related post. feel free to flame me all you want in jealous rage Skyrim is so poorly optimized..... BTW, if you purchase a 1000 bucks GPU, you should at least know about adaptive VSync. THe FPS don't drop to 45 or 30 but to whatever frame rate they should drop to. I hear of people running at 40 FPS average and not feeling any lag and I play at at 35 FPS minimum and I feel a lot of lag. Also, I only use 4*MSAA plus 2* trSSAA and performance AO.
  15. It's set to application controlled.
  16. I already tried disabling Vsync with a FPS capper set to 60. That didn't fix the issue.
  17. I'm running at 1680*1050 with 2048 optimized textures (no 4096) with 2 Supersampling and performance AO with a GPU that, in other games, produces more than 2 times the FPS of a 560 Ti. My issue isn't droppping below 40 FPS , I mean, with a min FPS of 35, that shouldn't feel so laggy, my issue is that I have to have VSync on but when I have it on, the game feels laggy.
  18. I've run thrgouh everything recommended by STEP (including texture optimizing to 2048K), set the viewing distance to 7 and I've installed a few mods (Immersive Environments instead of RCRN, Amazing Follower Tweaks, Script Dragon with POS1 horse spawn, auto level... and some body and hair mods). I've enabled VSync because without it, I experience huge tearing issues. But with it, I sometimes drop to 40 or 30 and that makes the whole game feel laggy although those frame rates should be quite acceptable. Also, I experience some freezes and (rarely) CTDs but that's the less important issue to me. The question is : why does that when I've got a far better config than the STEP writer (sorry, forgotten his name ^^). AMD Phenom II *4 965 BE @ 3800 MHz Gigabyte GTX 670 @ 1360 MHz max core and 6400 max memory 8 gigs of Kingston HyperX genesis @ 1600 MHz defragmented HDD (no SSD) Skyrim v 1.5 Thanks for your help and advice.
  19. Well I'm using only the graphic mods from STEP (the creator runs the game with all these mods smoothly with a 560Ti) so I don't think that's a problem. Many guides say Skyrim simply uses all the available VRAM for caching.
  20. Then a bump up to 8 (only $25 for a 4GB stick on Newegg) will surely do you some good. I have an i5 2500k, AMD 6870, 8GB RAM, and a normal HDD and with all of the highest resolution files possible I'm doing 40+ fps everywhere. 17 Gigs is nothing, I'm pushing 21! :D My issue isn't that I get under 40 FPs. That never happens. My issue is I drop to 40 with Vsync on and when I disable Vsync I get a whole lot of tearing. To put it simple, my problem is stutter, not big FPS drops. Kinda weird.
  21. Well, maybe it's my RAM. When I am outdoors and go to the task manager I get 80-90% of RAM usage (I've got 4 Gigs). My game folder weighs 17 gigs.
  22. Then I'll have to find 400 bucks to buy me a 2500K :/ for moving Skyrim to the SSD, I should have said that I use a cracked .exe to get rid of the auto-updating so does it change anything?
  23. I've got an OCed Gigabyte Gtx 670 (1360 MHz core and 6492 for the mem max) and a Phenom II *4 965 BE @3800 MHz with 4 gigs of RAM. I'm sometimes dropping under 60 FPS with STEP, ultra settings (high shadows) + 2* SSAA performance ambient occlusion. What component do you think is to blame and what should I do to resolve this (small) issue? Also, I wanted to buy an SSD to fix the painfully long loading times, can I just copy over Skyrim from my HDD to the SSD for it to work with skse?
