  1. Gave it go and risked it to see what the process might be... backing up the files first. Removed the mod completely Reinstalled the mod (moving it to the same position in the priority order - left window) Overwrite will not immediately show as red, you have to either: Right click overwrite and selected refresh or Install another mod, I'd suggest something that doesn't write to overwrite as I'd imagine you'd then have two sets in there and would have to try and separate them. After that I went to the overwrite folder (C:\ModManager\overwrite), copied the contents and pasted them back into the mod that generated them e.g.  (C:\ModManager\mods\Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS) Thanks Salvador/flyingspatula for the feedback :)
  2. I'd seen your thread and didn't want to hijackit. Also it didn't quite hit what I was looking for either. The advice in it is great and covers what I should do. For anyone looking its over at https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=3518 The problem i have is what I've already done. Rather than drag the contents of overwrite to the parent mod. I've packaged them up as new mods already. What I'm wondering is if I delete the new mods I've created will running Redux/FNIS bring the contents back to overwrite again or is this a one time thing. If that's the case then I'd need to try and salvage the correct textures, etc for the newly created mods? I'm hoping to some how roll it back so to speak and let the overwrite happen again but this time drag the contents to the parent mod
  3. Hey all Really trying modding for the first time and after an initial flurry of install everything (much like a kid in a sweets shop) I could without paying really any attention with NMM.  The experience on loading that game up taught me that modding requires a little more finesse and a lot more time. So I found STEP and I'm working my way through it but I've now seen overwrite twice now and I'd like to clear my understand of what is happening here and how best to deal with it. I've received it with both FNIS and Dual Redux on both occasions I've right clicked the overwrite section and clicked create mod, gave it a sensible name to match the mod that it seem associated with and left it in the list next to the originating mod. I have an aching feeling thought that I'm missing something here.  The files that are being generated for overwrite, I take it this is the files that generated after hitting the 'patch now' button.  Should I really be moving these newly generated files to the actual mod directory instead of leaving them as a bundled (albeit separate) mod... or is bundling them as i get them and make a patch the idea way to go with it? ...thanks in advance
