Problem solved: I had to edit the skyrim.ini with the ini editor of MO. There was the dreaded bShowMarkers entry. Thanks for listening :-D

Sorry for spamming but I cannot edit my own posts apparently. I cannot get rid of the problem. But in my case this did not work out as "bShowMarkers" was not added under [Display] (or any other header) in my Skyrim.Ini file. I deleted BethIni and all caches and hopefully all remains. I deleted Skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and started the game from launcher. The problem still persists although the Skyrim.ini file should be clean, right? I even added bShowMarkers to the ini.file. Still the problem persists. When deleting the ini files and starting the game from Steam the problem is gone. When starting from Mod organizer it`s back. Help would be highly appreciated!!

I`ve redone the installation but the problem persists. Do I really need to re-install because of one little mistake?

Hello, Firstly I`d like to thank the authors of the STEP guide. I`ve never encountered such an easy-to-follow guide for such a complicated matter. Really appreciated! I installed the STEP Core today. I`m pretty sure to have done most parts right. I started up the game which was actually working on first try. During the intro of a new game I already saw that something was amiss. Please look at the screenshots provided. It looks like kinds of placeholders. These structures are everywhere. Around npcs the color is blue. The dragon in the intro is yellow for example.
