What's New

This changelog addresses changes relating to the 2.2.0 guide version and includes all Post-Release_Changes noted in the 2.1.0 guide version unless indicated otherwise. See previous changelogs using the link under the page heading.

A new game is not required if updating from the previous version of the Step SSE guide.

• A few new runtime 'Extenders' mods have been added (notably the 'NG' versions of the Fudgyduff mods) relating to the 1.6.640 game update. This decision was made for two reasons:
  • The NG versions are more forward compatible, since they are based on a more progressive version of CommonLib that is more future proof to game updates. In short, they won't need updates as often.
  • The Fudgyduff mods tend not to be updated until many months after game updates, and we just don't want to wait if it isn't necessary.
• Immersive Sounds - Compendium with AOS patch and AOS extensions have been added to the guide to enrich the vanilla soundscape with a more comprehensive solution. AOS and Step's previously-existing sound mods prevail most conflicts.
• Step is no longer recommending manual cleaning of Dawnguard.esm. The "quick auto clean" (QAC) procedure is all that's necessary.
