10/29/2016 When Skyrim Special Edition was announced, I put off further modding and testing. But now that SE is available, it's time to start again. Check out the Skyrim Special Edition Build.
5/26/2016 New benchmarks for Skyrim using the GeForce GTX 950 are now available on the Benchmarks page.
5/24/2016 After much downloading and tweaking, I have a working STEP Core build to start from. A few benchmarks have been added to the Skyrim build page. Last night I decided to also install the performance/low-quality options and generate Low/Medium/High versions of DynamicLOD for some side by side comparison testing. Since I'll be adding quite a few mods to my build, VRAM and playable FPS will be a concern.
5/22/2016 A year has gone by without updates, unfortunately my gaming rig took a pretty big hit. I've since replaced the AMD Radeon 7850 for a new Nvidia GeForce GTX 950. The System Specs page has been updated to reflect this. The Skyrim Build will be getting a much needed update, including better benchmark data and a new custom build guide to suit my particular play-style.
5/3/2015 For reasons I won't get into now, I'm trying out an experiment with Steam In-Home Streaming. Using STEP 2.2.9 as a basis for a new Skyrim Build and New Vegas Build
6/24/2014 Thank you Steam Summer Sale, now I have another game to tinker with. Let's see how New Vegas Build works for me.
6/22/2014 Finished installing STEP Core and grabbing the raw benchmark data along the way. I'll post updates later when I get a chance to import and tabulate the results. Based on the opening carriage-ride numbers, I've only lost about 4 FPS verses my vanilla results. Starting with STEP Core, I've already put together a custom play-build which includes some mods from Extended as well as some hand-picked selections.
6/20/2014 Picked up Skyrim in early April as a birthday gift for myself. Of course this happened to be before the Legendary Edition package was released. Since it's Summer Sale time on Steam, I thought I'd pick up Dragonborn, Hearthfire and Dawngaurd for $24. Just finished reverting to a clean vanilla install, only now with some new DLC along for the ride as I start modding all over again.
