Project Timeline

Dicussions

There are several discussions that need to be completed before Phase 3.

• Discuss how Mod Picker is going to be integrated (including Packs)
• Discuss and decide on the front-end layout
• Discuss and decide on a new logo
• Decide what wiki content to move to the front-end
• Discuss how third-party user guides are to be handled

Phase 1 - New Server

Deadline: November 1st (one month to complete)

Tasks

• Get dev server online and prepped to host site
  • Purchase server
    • Set up user accounts
  • Install CentOS using server tools
    • Ensure updated software is installed (PHP, etc)
    • Install Nginx
    • Install Varnish
    • Install F....
• Move current snapshot of site to new server (Forum and Wiki), in its current state
  • Backup current server files
  • Backup databases
  • Move server files onto to server
  • Install databases from backup
• Test the move to verify everything is working smoothly

Phase 2 - Build Dev Environment

Deadline: December 1st (one month to complete)

Tasks

• Update forum with new license
• Update forum software to newest version
• Update wiki software to newest version
• Install Drupal
• Give Admin group the access needed for dev work (SFTP accounts, user accounts, server access, etc.)

Phase 3 - Development

Deadline: January 1st (three months to complete)

Phase 4 - Beta Testing

Deadline: February 1st (one month to complete)

This phase is reached when all the work is done and it's time to test out the entire new setup. We'll likely want to get the staff or community volunteers in on this phase. If any bugs show up, we fix them. Assuming all is well by the month's end, we unveil STEP 3.0 to the public.

STEP Modlist

The following is our mod list set up as a visual of how mods would be arranged under the Mod Picker top categories. We could always include the sub-categories, if desired. Mods within a section are listed alphabetically. The only exceptions made are for mods that require to be loaded early to due to heavy conflicts (I've dubbed this section 'First Responders' for the time being). For these types of mods, I suggest we include a separate section similar to our current Conflicting Graphics section. Obviously with this new setup some of the instructions on the mod pages will have to change or be updated.

Mods with a "???" next to them are ones that I question where to appropriately place them within the categories and/or would like to here Mator's reasoning on the placement of these mods.
