INSTALLATION
- Download and install the main file.
- In the installer tick Enable on the Texture pre-loading screen.
OPTIONAL DOWNSCALED TEXTURES
The following section is relevant only to users that experience a noticeable lag when equipping headgear with overlay. Step recommends to test out the game with the "original" textures that come with the mod first and come back only if you register issues.
The overlays provided by the mod are apparently too large (the helmet overlay textures are 2 MB each, and the cracked visor overlays are 8 MB each) and can cause a noticeable lag on some systems upon equipping. To cope with the issue Nexus member jtgibson has downscaled all overlays and provided a download with the Helmet Overlay author's permission:
- Manually download the downscaled textures to a location of choice.
- Drag and drop the archive to MO's Downloads tab.
- Double-click on the archive to install as a separate mod. When the installation process ends, place the mod directly below Helmet Overlay.
