Guide/Version-Specific Mod Recommendations

Existing Guides
1.0.0
1.1.0
1.2.0
Type a version string using the format indicated by the placeholder text below. Copy/paste the intended guide version from the "Existing Guides" table above (if it exists) into the field below. For unofficial user-created guides, use the format indicated by the placeholder text. Editors: Please DO NOT use wiki headings inside of custom Recommendations and also avoid using templates if at all possible! Template calls add to the max threshold, and headings mess up the guide ToC.

Recommendations

INSTALLATION
  1. Download and install the main file.
  2. In the installer tick Enable on the Texture pre-loading screen.
OPTIONAL DOWNSCALED TEXTURES

The following section is relevant only to users that experience a noticeable lag when equipping headgear with overlay. Step recommends to test out the game with the "original" textures that come with the mod first and come back only if you register issues.

The overlays provided by the mod are apparently too large (the helmet overlay textures are 2 MB each, and the cracked visor overlays are 8 MB each) and can cause a noticeable lag on some systems upon equipping. To cope with the issue Nexus member jtgibson has downscaled all overlays and provided a download with the Helmet Overlay author's permission:

  1. Manually download the downscaled textures to a location of choice.
  2. Drag and drop the archive to MO's Downloads tab.
  3. Double-click on the archive to install as a separate mod. When the installation process ends, place the mod directly below Helmet Overlay.
