These instructions are for users desiring to follow The Method with this guide.

  1. Sort with LOOT.
  2. Launch xEdit VQSC.
  3. Create a ModGroup to hide conflicts handled by a downstream custom patch between Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition.esp and FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp.
    • Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition + FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp
      1. CTRL + click ONLY Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition.esp and FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp to select them.
      2. Right click → Create ModGroup...
      3. Click [Yes] at the prompt to include CRC32s.
      4. It is best to follow a consistent naming scheme of the final plugin + the previous plugins.
        • We will accomplish this by selecting Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition.esp and using the key combo Ctrl + n to quickly copy the final plugin name.
        • Add a plus sign (+) and add the previous plugin name(s) by using Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v shortcuts.
        • The final resulting name should then be Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition + FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp
      5. Select Thaylar Lighting 3.2 - Big Edition.esp and click [OK]
      6. Ensure all ModGroups are ticked, then click [OK].
  4. Right-click anywhere in the left pane and select [Apply Filter to show Conflicts].
  5. Make a conflict resolution patch between FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp and community fixes merged.esp.
    • community fixes merged.esp \ Outfit \ 0002186E <Wastelander02withHood>
      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick <new file>.esp [Template] Light.
      3. Click [OK].
      4. Name the patch FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.esp.
      3. Click [OK].

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.esp.
      3. Click [OK].

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.esp.

    • Add FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp and community fixes merged.esp as masters
      1. Right-click FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.esp and select [Add Masters].
      2. Tick FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp and community fixes merged.esp and click [OK].
        • Adding these masters ensures proper load order of the patch is maintained.
      3. Right-click FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch.esp and select [Sort Masters (to match current load order)].
  6. Make a conflict resolution patch between FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp and unofficial fallout 4 patch.esp.

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick <new file>.esp [Template] Light.
      3. Click [OK].
      4. Name the patch FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - UFO4P Patch.

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].
      2. Scroll down and tick FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - UFO4P Patch.esp.

      4. Drag the Conditions field in FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp into FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - UFO4P Patch.esp.

      1. Right-click the record and select [Copy As Override Into...].

      4. Drag the Conditions field in FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp into FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - UFO4P Patch.esp.
    • Right-click FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - UFO4P Patch.esp and select [Sort Masters (to match current load order)].
  7. Create a ModGroup to hide remaining conflicts between FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp and community fixes merged.esp.
    • FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis - CFM Patch + FO4FixesAndTweaksByAurelianis.esp + community fixes merged.esp
      1. CTRL + click ONLY the following modules to select them:
