GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
The Resources is fine where it is. You can put the others right before the Bashed patch in the left panel. LOOT will take care of the right panel. -
Star Wars Humble Bundle is going on again if you happen to miss the last two or don't already own all the SW games like me. https://www.humblebundle.com/star-wars-3-bundle

4GB patch apparently didn't work
EssArrBee replied to Rescorla's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
What are you using to measure memory? Task Manager doesn't really show more than 2GB even if you are at the limit. -
Different weather mod maybe? There used to mods that came with the option for brighter nights since ENB made it so dark. I don't remember which ones though.

That is one of the few mods in the guide I always reconsider having in the guide. It is a great concept, but it can be buggy. You probably don't have anything wrong with your setup though, it is just a mod that has some bugs. The LOD flickering issue is a Bethesda engine thing called Z-fighting where the LOD textures are fighting to be displayed. There are ways to reduce it, but it creates other issues.

Well missing meshes are the big red exclamation point and missing textures are going to show as purple, green, or the incorrect texture. You have some kind of missing textures or the meshes can't find the texture they need. FOOK PN convergence doesn't combine them into one mod, it patches both mods together, so you still need the original FOOK and PN. Check your plugins tab in MO and see how many active plugins there are. The mod index is in hexadecimal so you have to convert it. 82 is 130 plugins.
-
You have FOOK and Project Nevada, so are you using the FOOK Project Nevada Convergence mod? https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54398/? You probably have more than 135 plugins active. Around 130 the game just goes haywire and weird things happen. Maybe try Wrye Bash and use the bashed patch to reduce the amount of plugins you have or use merge plugins standalone by Mator off the Skyrim Nexus.

GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback
EssArrBee replied to EssArrBee's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I had thought about redoing the guide as a framework that allows other pages to call sections with a simple function. We use that with the main STEP Guide where you just call small sections of the other guides so everything stays consistent throughout the wiki. It was just another thing I never got too. My list of unfinished stuff is probably as long as the finished stuff. -
GUIDE Fear and Loathing in New Vegas - Feedback

It's not problem. I've just been away so long that I don't remember how to wiki anymore. I'll probably need to go through stuff with a fine tooth comb soon. -
Merge Plugins - Issue with Default Path/MO
EssArrBee replied to KingOfArcadia's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Try this thread and see if it would help your issue. https://forum.step-project.com/topic/11836-alternative-to-using-merge-patches-standalone/ I have been away from STEP for a while and haven't had the time to update it with all the latest stuff from every app yet.- 2 replies

Next week sometime, Bethesda will be rolling out HRDLC for FO4. https://bethesda.net/en/article/52I2HyPCAowWG2ye8MKGU2/fallout-4-free-updates-high-resolution-texture-pack-and-ps4-pro-support Looks like we'll need a pretty beefy rig to run the game with it. Recommended PC Specs: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required) Intel Core i7-5820K or better GTX 1080 8GB 8GB+ Ram You'll also need an additional 58GB of drive space. :O_o: Interesting little tidbit from the article about FO4 and SSE. Hopefully there is something special coming out of that.

You can create the folders in MO. Just right click <data>, select create directory and input 'Plugins'. Repeat and input 'NVSE'. Drag the DLL into Plugins and Plugins into NVSE, then click OK. Fin! I'll finish the new instructions in the guide in a bit, but I have completely forgotten my own formatting it's been so long. -

You can modify the guide if you feel it's noteworthy. The Jacob Powers bounty with companions is probably a good one to note. -

That's the one. I'm pretty sure I would have had Veronica and Willow and her dog with me. That's my usual testing posse. -

I think I had that same problem but it was so long ago I can't remember. There was cave full of some ghoul army that causes some freezes and after I finished the mission the exit wouldn't work. I had to teleport from the console. -

Does that mean NVBIII has been tested? It just doesn't work with AWOP or is there any other reasons that it isn't in the guide? -
This is why I use one install of xEdit and then have MO launch it using the arguments. You only have to worry about one copy of the app at a time. There is a highly neglected Fallout guide I started a while ago and never really finished that has some instructions for really advanced setups like that. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Fallout#Setting_Up_Mod_Organizer

When it's delivered I wouldn't even boot it up. Just wipe the drives and reinstall windows.

What is your price range? Since it's Cyber Monday there should be some great deals out there on laptops.

The problem with that VX is the screen. 1366x768 on a 15" screen?? That blu-ray drive is basically useless unless you plug it into a higher res TV/monitor.
