Subject: STEP v2.2.6 Released

Dear {username},

STEP v2.2.6 has been released! Download the file and check out the changelog for details on how to update.

The next release of STEP, version 2.3.0, will be a major release that includes significant changes. In addition to an expansion of the core STEP mods, version 2.3.0 will be our first iteration of STEP with Packs (optional mod compilations that follow a specific theme and function). Packs do not necessarily adhere to the full STEP Mandate, so these will be of interest to more advanced modders and those that want to see greater changes and improvements to the vanilla Skyrim experience than the mods in the core STEP collection.

For the past year Neovalen has been working on an expanded set of mods and installation guidelines called Skyrim Revisited (SR) that uses almost all of the core STEP mods plus many additional mods. SR is intended to provide a much more comprehensive and immersive Skyrim experience than that of vanilla Skyrim. In addition to the evolving SR, which can be thought of itself as an particularly extensive "Pack", STEP will be begin the inclusion of many of Neovalen's methods and mods used in his SR project. We cannot present too much detail for 2.3.0 at this time, since we are still very much in the planning stage, but it will represent the next major evolution of STEP. Equally important, STEP 2.3.0 will not abandon the ideology of the STEP Mandate or significantly change STEP as much as it will mark the beginning of the a richer expansion of STEP beyond the vanilla Mandate. Thus, the next iteration will bring many more options in addition to the enhanced vanilla experience for which STEP has come to be known.
