Meta Rule Instructions[edit | edit source]

LOOT allows the user to create rules to solve load order problems not automatically resolved in the LOOT algorithm. A rule is necessary when one plugin is conflicting with another plugin, causing incompatibility that need not be present.

Creating meta rules[edit | edit source]

To create a LOOT meta rule:

  1. Launch LOOT.
  2. Click Sort Plugins.
  3. Select the plugin requiring lower loading (when a plugin is loaded lower than another plugin, it wins the conflict).
  4. Toward top right, tick the Show only conflicting plugins box. The list of plugins will be much shorter as only conflicting plugins are shown.
  5. Drag and drop the conflicting plugin into the Load After window.
  6. Click Apply. The load order will be dynamically reordered applying the rule just created.
  7. Click Apply again to accept the new load order.

Removing meta rules[edit | edit source]

To remove a LOOT meta rule:

  1. Launch LOOT.
  2. Click Edit Metadata.
  3. Select the plugin the rule was created for.
  4. At center right, click the Load After tab.
  5. Select the plugin to be removed from Load After.
  6. At bottom right, click the Remove Plugin button.
  7. Click the Save Changes button, saving the change.
