Meta Rule Instructions[edit | edit source]

LOOT allows the user to create rules to solve load order problems not automatically resolved in the LOOT algorithm. A rule is necessary when one plugin is conflicting with another plugin, causing incompatibility that need not be present.

Creating meta rules[edit | edit source]

Load after rule[edit | edit source]

To create a LOOT meta rule:

  1. Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
  2. Right-click the plugin requiring a load after rule and select [Edit Metadata].
  3. Go to the [Load After] tab.
  4. Drag the plugin you want it to be loaded after from the left pane into the Load After tab area.
  5. Click the [Save] button.
  6. Click the [Sort Plugins] button at top left to re-sort your plugins with your new meta rule applied.

Changing group[edit | edit source]

To change a LOOT group:

  1. Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
  2. Right-click the plugin requiring a new group and select [Edit Metadata].
  3. Go to the [Group] tab.
  4. Select the group the mod should be loaded in.
  5. Click the [Save] button.
  6. Click the [Sort Plugins] button at top left to re-sort your plugins with your new meta rule applied.

Removing meta rules[edit | edit source]

To remove a LOOT meta rule:

  1. Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
  2. Right-click the plugin requiring meta rule removal and select [Clear User Metadata...].
