Meta Rule Instructions[edit | edit source]
LOOT allows the user to create rules to solve load order problems not automatically resolved in the LOOT algorithm. A rule is necessary when one plugin is conflicting with another plugin, causing incompatibility that need not be present.
Creating meta rules[edit | edit source]
Load after rule[edit | edit source]
To create a LOOT meta rule:
- Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
- Find the plugin requiring lower loading (when a plugin is loaded after another plugin, it wins the conflict).
- Right-click the plugin and select [Edit Metadata].
- Go to the [Load After] tab.
- Drag the plugin you want it to be loaded after from the left pane into the Load After tab area.
- Click the [Save] button.
- Click the [Sort Plugins] button at top left to resort your plugins with your new meta rule applied.
Changing group[edit | edit source]
To change a LOOT group:
- Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
- Right-click the plugin requiring a new group and select [Edit Metadata].
- Go to the [Group] tab.
- Select the group the mod should be loaded in.
- Click the [Save] button.
- Click the [Sort Plugins] button at top left to resort your plugins with your new meta rule applied.
Removing meta rules[edit | edit source]
To remove a LOOT meta rule:
- Launch LOOT through Mod Organizer.
- Find the plugin requiring lower loading (when a plugin is loaded after another plugin, it wins the conflict). If following a rule from the Meta Rule Instructions template, this will be the first plugin displayed.
- All the way to the right of the plugin, click the vertical ellipsis drop-down button (the one with three periods on top of each other) and select Clear User Metadata.
- Click LOAD AFTER.
- Click Clear.
- Click the Sort Plugins button at top left to resort the plugins with the changes applied.
