Intro

This will be the storehouse for information regarding STEP and Skyrim:Special Edition (SSE).

Do NOT use the included archiving tools that come with the new CK! They do not work properly. Follow these procedures for properly archiving mods for use with SSE: via Nexus Forums.

Tools

Wrye Bash is currently the best mod manager to use for SSE. It can come with a heavier learning curve than new users are used to.

Bethesda Archive Extractor is used to extract SSE archives. Currently Wrye Bash requires the String files to be extracted so users will need this.

NifModify is a tool which will fix missing tangent and bitangent data in meshes. This can be valuable to modders porting meshes over to SSE, but also to users who may experience rendering issues with meshes from mods they port for their personal use. It's only available in command line.

LOOT is now available for SSE.

Converted STEP Mods

Below is a list of mods from the STEP Guide which have been converted to SSE. I'm sure some of these have been ported without being tested.

Appropriately Attired Jarls - currently not ported. Author will port when he/she has time.
Clothing and Clutter Fixes - currently not ported. Author is working on the port.

Dead Body Collision Fix - currently not ported. The author has been banned from Nexus so it's not likely to be ported due to permissions.
Enchantment Reload Fix - currently no ported. Requires SKSE.

Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
Guard Dialogue Overhaul - currently not ported. Author is MIA.

Invisibility Glitch - Eyes Fix - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
NARC - No Animals Report Crimes - currently not ported. Author will port if the mod is still needed in SSE.

Ragdoll Paralysis - currently not ported. Author is MIA. There are no permissions for porting. Nexus might allow a port.
Relighting Skyrim - currently not ported. JawZ will be porting.
Skyrim Project Optimization - currently not ported. Author isn't around much.
Smart Souls - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
Trade and Barter - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
Weapons and Armor Fixes - currently not ported. Author is working on porting it.
Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.

XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - XPMSE - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.

2.E Interface

Disease Descriptions for the Immersive Adventurer - currently not ported. No word from William if it will be ported or not.
EASIER LOCKPICKING - Without Cheating - Nordic Retexture - currently not ported. Gamwich will be porting.
High Quality 3D Map - currently not ported. Author isn't active much so no word on a port or not.
Immersive HUD - iHUD - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
KenMOD - Time on loading screen - currently not ported. No word if there will be one or not.

Main Font Replacement - currently not ported. Has been reported to work fine with SSE. Font Overhaul - Realistic Typefaces for Skyrim is a very nice font overhaul and has the default font that STEP currently recommends for the UI. This could be a replacement.

RaceMenu - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.

SkyUI - currently not ported. Requires SKSE. Version 2.2 is reported to work with SSE, minus some of the newer features.
Viewable Faction Ranks - currently not ported. Requires SKSE.
