Recommendations

Instructions are current up to v1.62d of SMIM!

Download the SMIM v1-61 and the SMIM Update to 1-62d from 1-61 files.

STEP recommends to install all options EXCEPT Lanterns and Xtra Options - Ultra-Sized Textures Addon. This is due to these two options being a massive texture size increase. If your system can handle it, use these two options at your discretion.

From the SMIM v1-61 file, choose the Custom install option on the first window, and check ONLY the following:

Barrels

• Modified Vanilla Barrels

Food - Tomato Style

• Default Heirloom

Farmhouse Ropes

• Farmhouse 3D Ropes No Fade

Chains 3D - Pull Levers

• Chains 3D - Pull Levers Small Rings

Farmhouse Woven Fence

• Woven Fence Dense Grey
• If heavy flickering occurs with the fences, either disable or use the light version.

Tankards

• Dark Brushed Metal Tankards

Hawk

• Hawk Improvements with Dragonborn DLC

Furniture Textures

• SMIM Default

Dawnguard Soulcairn Bone Piles

Now install the 1.62d update file.

NOTES:

• StaticMeshImprovementMod.esp is no longer necessary due to 100% overlap with the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. Either do not install or deactivate it.
• StaticMeshImprovementMod-DragonbornTernFix.esp is not needed if using one of the STEP Patches and can be disabled or deleted.
• StaticMeshImprovementMod-FurnitureChestSnowFix.esp is not needed if using one of the STEP Patches and can be disabled or deleted.
