NOTE

Follow the mod-build guide in all respects otherwise, but disable Vsync and FPS limiters in the game INI and in any other sources. They are redundant and could cause issues if set.

AMD Radeon Adrenalin[edit | edit source]

Skyrim is a DirectX 9 game and also has some of its own idiosyncrasies, so it doesn't behave as expected with many modern 'enhancements' that can be invoked via driver software. The following configuration works well to alleviate many graphics and game-play issues. These settings generally apply to all display hardware types and software settings where they overlap. As a general rule of thumb, let the Skyrim configuration handle graphics settings on it's own, or prefer mods to do so in some cases. The only exceptions are things like FPS limiters, anti-lag, and Vsync (or driver-proprietary versions of vsync). Avoid configuring the same functionality from multiple sources. Example: vsync can be set in driver-soft settings, Skyrim INI, SSE Display Tweaks, and ENB to name a few. These are REDUNDANT and can cause issues if more than one is toggled.
