  1. I think I'm going to stop modding. There are too many of these types of things coming out that are breaking the normal file resolution for the game. Things like this and SPID make it 100x harder to track down issues. These things put a lot more burden on mod authors because now everyone wants your mods to support these things, and guide authors because we no long have a reliable way to track conflicts. The problem is they won't show any conflicts because all the records are being edited at runtime. We're just making it harder and harder to actually mod in any traditional way.
  2. Deviations happen and this one has textures and the one mesh that does so. We can override Mandate with majority vote, but it's rarely done with anything that is going to make a large difference. As is the case here...these are so small and insignificant that I, honestly, don't care one way or the other.
  3. So it's mainly just the one key that is different. The other models are close enough to vanilla that they could still be considered for the Guide without any real issues.
  4. If I remember correctly, I don't think these were vanilla replacements. I could be wrong...it's been a minute.
  5. I've updated some of the stuff around AMUMSS: AMUMSS installation steps have been updated to ensure users have the correct prerequisites installed (.NET5 Desktop) AMUMSS initialization steps have been updated to help users get the program set up better (setting up folder exclusions and running a new test script) A notice has been added to the NMS PCBANKS Explorer section to make users aware it being an optional step, unless customization will be made Additionally, AMUMSS has be updated. It's not required, but I would recommend doing a fresh installation any time a new version is released on GitHub. This just ensures any old files are cleaned out and all new files are updated correctly. This particular update fixes a memory leak among other things.
  6. I do mine a bit differently that what is in that Guide because I mod non-Bethesda games and instructions in that Guide seem to keep getting reverted to only consider Bethesda games when changes are made. Since it's been changed by other Admin, I'll let someone else address the contradiction.

  8. The RS patch is completely bogus. It's not even touching any RS references. I updated RS after I complained that their RS patch was incorrect. They told me they'd update it, but was taking forever to do something that should have been done in the first place (2 second to forward a few records). I felt like they weren't being diligent in their patching so I removed the need for the RS patch in the last RS update. Turns out they updated their RS patch anyway... This tells me they're not doing their due diligence in their patching, which makes me want to check the others...
  9. I'm curious what that patch is doing now considering the last update of RS should have removed the need for the patch...
  10. Your selections look right to me. They may still include the scripts do to how the have the FOMOD, but it shouldn't have the reference in the plugin to run. It's most likely a quest that runs, which in turn runs the script or chains down to eventually hit the script. I haven't look into it, personally.
  11. Yes, thank you! I fixed to the Resource File instructions. The ModScript image has been updated. It's likely cached on your system; try Crtl+F5 on the page. If that doesn't work, you'll likely have to clean your cache which is storing a temporary image that it is pulling instead of using the newer image. How to do that depends on the browser. I use Chrome and just clearing the "Cached images and files" is enough via the Settings.
  12. Discussion topic: Step NoMansSky Guide Resources: Nexus Mods Please submit feedback or bug reports about the 2.4.0 Guide to this topic.
  13. So to answer this better... Better Base Sites is no longer providing a LUA after its update, thus, it will be removed from the Guide. There is an updated LUA at a repository, but I don't want users to go through the hassle of creating it themselves. Sensible Planetary Charts doesn't need to be updated, as long as you are using the LUA. It rarely needs an update. Reduced Launch Cost will be removed from the Guide, as well, since users can control this via the Custom game mode. The Guide will be recommending users use this new mode as several of the Resource files have been rebalanced for the new options available or removed altogether because the option is available in Custom mode.
  14. Yes, you would continue to use the LUAs and it should be safe to update the mods any time.
  15. Yep, only the Foundation section of the Guide isn't working. I'll be releasing it this week, hopefully.
  16. Most likely it's because CCOR removed the bows and arrows from those leveled NPCs so they would fight rather than stand around shooting their bows during civil war events.
  17. Any time the game updates, AMUMSS will have to be re-run. Besides that, it's just waiting for mods to update. I have updated Resource Files pretty much ready to go. I'm just waiting for Hello Games to smooth out their update schedule a bit. Rechecking everything in the Guide once a week is a lot of work and time that I don't have. That's why the Guide is only updated once they stop releasing updates once or twice a week. I'll likely release the next update to the Guide this coming week.
  18. Discussion topic: Better Deposit Colors by Lo2k Wiki Link This mod changes the deposit colors to be more distinct from one another and better match those of real life. Note that the planet's ambient color can have an effect on final coloration of these deposits.
  19. Thanks! There seems to be a particular planet class that causes a consistent crash. It's impossible to track from within the game because the game will crash as soon as the system loads with that style of planet in it. That is the only "game-breaking" issue I was able to run into. The rest is livable with; like nothing but terrain loading beyond the grass ("scroll-loading", as I call it because things load in as your walk).
  20. BPG is an amazing mod that brings a lot of life to the environments so it will return to the Guide whenever it's updated. However, until that time the mod will be marked as in conflict and Foundation steps hidden, but still available. It will still be available for those that who still want to run BPG; obviously being okay with living with these few issues until the mod is updated. Currently, hazardous planets seem to have a fairly common issue of not generating correctly. There are also reports of crashes with some particular planets, which I believe I experienced myself during my last round of playing. For these reasons, I can't officially leave it in the Guide. Hopefully the next release for it is soon, but there's been no progress updates from the author since August.
  21. I was just saying the other day I didn't understand why the SKSE team wasn't something like this so authors wouldn't have to update with every single change. It just makes sense, but it seams someone has gone and done something to support just that.
  22. I've played a bit with it now and it's playable, but hit and and miss. I've seen some perfectly fine planets but I've also seen some planets with a ton of pop-in, as if the LOD was just broken. It works, but doesn't seem 100%. The next version of BPG was been in the testing phase for at least a month. Hopefully it'll be out soon.
  23. Yeah, it seems it's about 50/50 on the reports whether or not BPG is working. Some say it's fine and some say it's broken. I'll get to testing things on my own in a couple of days. Thanks for the report, though!
  24. Well, the entire Foundation section is broken right now due to Better Planet Generation, so you can skip it. You can also skip Windrex as it's been reported as broken. We'll see what happens with these mods over the next week or so. The remainder of the Guide is fine. I am updating the Resource Files as there have been some settings removed that need to be removed from the LUAs. AMUMSS will toss either an error or a warning for those, but it may still run. I haven't tried running them, myself, since I'm still updating them; so I can't say for sure what will happen.
  25. Yes. They has to rebuild the files using the newest game files, but the big advantage of LUA files is they mostly work across updates unless settings have been removed by Hello Games that the LUAs are trying to find. Even then it'll likely just toss a warning and continue on, skipping what it can't find. So yes, LUA need to be rebuild each update but they often last through the chaotic update schedule that Hello Games has without the author needing to do anything.
