Settlement Mods
So if your not starting a new game you will have to take some steps to prepare your saved game for use with settlement mods especially if you have has prior mods in the past.
Settlement mods come in three main flavors
- Old School SKE mods
- Main Overhauls which include several new menu option
- Extra item - these add some extra items to an existing menu or 1-2 menu items.
Preparing your existing save game
remove all settlement mods
Missing Settlement Categories Fix
Files to download :
Description : This mod restores lost categories from settlement's menu. |
Install and activate the above mod
load your save game (without Settlement addons enabled)
Save the game once loaded in.
exit game to main menu then load game
Checking your Workshop Menu
Enter the Workshop menu by holding the "V" key You should see the following menus Structures Furniture Decoration Power Defense Resources Stores Crafting Cages Raider
If you are unable to see this menu at all and do not have a chemistry lab and are unable to create one then you will have to Console command a MainMenufix chem and use it.
If you are missing any of these main menus create the appropriate fix chem and consume it (You must wait for the OK box to appear on the screen before consuming the next one.) Once you have done this check all your sub menus

- Nukaworld
- Vault (if you have unlocked it)
- Wall Decor
Power
- Manufacturing
- Neon
Structures
- Balltrack
- Barn
- Box Cars
- Concrete
- fences
- Metal
- Scaffolding
- Vault
- Warehouse
- Wood
If you are missing any of these sub directories then create the appropriate Chem and consume it (Wait for the OK Box between each one)
Once all the vanilla menues have been verified or restored Save the game and Exit to desktop. Disable Missing Settlement Categories Fix.
