Do overwritten textures still load into Vram?

Question

Posted (edited)

Just a random thing I've been wondering about textures. When you overwrite one texture with another, does the overwritten texture still load or "count" as part of your Vram usage, or even memory usage in general, or does the engine ignore it as if it never existed?

thanks

Each resource has a unique path\to\filename and can only exist once for the game (this includes files in the BSAs)

So the answer is no, they do not count. You got it right, it is like they never existed to the engine.
