Game Performance degrades to multi-crashes after several hours.

Question

Hi,

I'm new to modding with Skyrim.

I've been using Mod Organiser, watch all the tutorial videos from Gamer Poet and I have a decent understanding on how the tool works.

At least I think I have as I keep hitting the same problem, after several hours of gameplay I get plenty of Random crashes, now I get one every 3 to 4 minutes.

I'm  really at my wits end.
Been using these mods, I don't know whether i've not done ENBoost correctly or it simply doesn't work for me.

But SKSE is installed to my game I checked the version in the console and it's there, but I crash, always the more of the map I open up, performance goes down.

I've used the LOOT tool to put them in the right place. i've used TES5EDIT to clean up redundant files for the DLC and other scripts

(Inigo and Moonpath to Elswyr mods have files you can only remove manually and i'm not confident in doing that yet, so left them alone).
These are the mods i'm using.

- Realistic Needs and Diseases
- Frostfall
- Clima
tes of Tamriel
- Inigo
- Sophia
- Alissa the wandering Rogue
- Falskaar
- Wyrmtooth
- Moonpath to Elswyr
- Civil War Mod
- Sky UI
- SKSE
- 64 Bit ENBoost
- Immersive Beds
- Aesir Armour
- A Matter of Time
- Dual Sheath Redux
- Skyrim Redone
- Block Sparkles
- CP Apple Tree
- Hunting Profit
- Amazing Follower Tweaks
- Valfar
- Skyfalls + Skymill
- Vilja
- Helgan Reborn
- Skyrim Immersive Creatures
- Bounty Gold
- Audio Overhaul
- Daedric Dawnbreaker
- Skyrim Book Covers
- Enhanced Lighting and FX
- Convenient Horse
- Trade Barter
- Bury the Dead
- Racemenu
- Touring Carriages
- No loading screen for Major Cities

My PC.

Windows 8.1 x64 Bit

Nvidia GeForce GT 630

16GB Ram

Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40Ghz (8 CPU), #3.9GHz
DirectX 11

Need expert views, I'm not after mega graphics, but vanilla game optimizes my game to High Settings, but personally when you add mods it doesn't take that into account.
So may have to cut back, any ideas?

Does it happen only in that one spot or can you use the console to coc somewhere else and have a stable game again ?

Since you are using a complete overhaul mod list then there are quite a few things that can cause conflicts. If you have not done a conflict resolution patch for your mod list then that would most likely be part of the reason. Since you are using quite a few scripted mods as well then this is even more important.

I am going to assume you are using default ini files or close to it as well. If you happen to increase ugrids or something like that then that will also cause issues.

I can't get Memory Block to work, it asks me what file in data to install, It says 'looks good' and installs, I started Skyrim through Mod Organizer and I crashed (Lasted longer this time), I was outside in Whiterun, I was also getting a notification that Frostfall was running out of memory and temporarily deactivated scripts.

I checked where I installed the Memoryblock logfile and it didn't display the Memory Block 256mb it says in the tutorial.

I don't know how you manually install Memblock to SKSE?
The Tutorial I don't understand.

"I am going to assume you are using default ini files or close to it as well. If you happen to increase ugrids or something like that then that will also cause issues."

I haven't altered the uGrids; But have added a .ini for SKSE and added the code it tells you to add.

I'm not using a Bashed Patch; So unsure if it's compiled or not.

I followed the Part 1 and 2 Tutorial for altering the code in Prefs to improve performance.

Install Memory Blocks Log, it is by Sheson the same mod author the came up with the memory fix used by SKSE. If you installed SKSE correctly, you will get a file in your "MO\overwrite\SKSE\Plugins" directory called "MemoryBlocksLog.log" that should look something like this:

logging of blocks enabled
logging max values only
Timer disabled
Block1 Block2
512MB    256MB
85    8
85    8
85    9

etc.

If this file is not created you did not install SKSE correctly.

I got it to work.

This is what the log shows, not even close to going over the limit.

SKSE appears in the console command when you check the version.

I installed the path as

x:/Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim/Mod Organizer/mods/SKSE

The Block Folder is installed as

x:/Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim/Mod Organizer/mods/Memory Blocks Log/skse/plugins/MemoryBlocksLog.ini

I have to move plugins into the SKSE folder in mods, yeah?

Short guide I made for myself:

Troubleshooting CTD
  1. Is Skyrim Memory Patch being used (via Skyrim Script Extender or SSME)?
  2. Is ENBoost installed and working?
    • Do you get the in-game message that ENBoost is active?
    • Are your ENBlocal.ini settings correct?
    • Use Skyrim Performance Monitor to verify
  3. Are you using unorthodox INI tweaks?
  4. Are the Unofficial Patches installed correctly?
    • Are they checked in the mod list?
    • Are they in the correct priority order in the mod list?
    • Are they checked in the plugins list?
  5. Do you have any active plugins that are missing a master?
    • Check for a warning icon in the plugins list before a plugin.
  6. Can TES5Edit successfully load all your plugins in one go?
  7. Start disabling mods and find which mod is causing CTD
  8. Do any of your plugins have errors that cannot be resolved?
    • Test plugins with the Check for Errors option in TES5Edit
    • Test patches first, as they are most likely to have outdated records due to mod version changes without patch update.
    • Not all errors cause CTD
  9. Did you update/add a mod recently? If so, see if there are any issues with that mod or compatibility issue with it and your setup.
  10. Some mods will cause CTD due to a corrupt mesh.

The above means you have means you have SKSE installed correctly. In your mod list, you have something called "64 Bit ENBoost". If this is Boris's ENBoost (I suspect it is), it should be installed in your actual Skyrim binaries directory (not Data) and not through MO.

Well Block 2 has gone over the allocated vanilla amount of 256MBs so it looks like it's working as it should be?

These binaries are already installed through SKSE 1.7 and above? or do I need to add these files separately?

If so can you show me how, please. :)

I've installed Skyrim Performance Monitor but I can only get it top work for Vanilla Skyrim.

I followed Gophers installation guide but I load up Skyrim through SKSE and the counter in the top left corner doesn't appear.

I've got

C:\Users\???\Documents\my games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini in the Skyrim ini file path.

X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\TESV.exe in the Main Program File Path.

X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe in the Skyrim Launcher File Path.

Followed Gopher's tutorial.

Skyrim Performance Monitor should point to:

C:\SKYRIM_MODDING\Mod Organizer\profiles\Dans SRLE2\skyrim.ini (or to your current profile skyrim.ini)

C:\Program Files (X86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim\TESV.exe (your main binary)

C:\SKYRIM_MODDING\Mod Organizer\ModOrganizer.exe (The main MO exe)

Then through MO start Skyrim by running SKSE.

I have added the Wrapper files it tells me to extract into the main Skyrim folder and I get the notification in the intro screen (Top left corner) that ENboost is installed. But after that I get a red notification that PATCH SPEEDHACK Enboostlocal.ini is activated, Graphics have been disabled; Is this line below meant to be like this in the .ini file? I fear it may be incorrect, if so what am I supposed to enter into that entry..VideoMemorySizeMb=<integer in KB, multiples of 1024>    ;Set to equal VRAM (32-bit)    ;Set to [VRAM] + [System RAM] - [2048] (64-bit)

Also, i've pointed the Skyrim performance monitor to mod manager's .exe

And I've added the profile I am using in Mod Manager which is RON v2 and the main TESV.exe but lauching SKSE from Mod Manager doesn't get Skyrim Performance Manager to work.

This is what my enblocal.ini looks like.
