Firewind Longfists: Umm.. who are you?

EnterReality: Hello mate. My friend in fb ask me add you. He want to talking with you, but he can't add you, have an error...

Firewind Longfists: Who?

Firewind Longfists: What is his Steam account name?

EnterReality: Can you add him please https:///id/holo/ He will waiting for you, he say me you and he old friends

EnterReality: Just copy a link to your browser Mozilla/Chrome/IE this will take like 10 sec

Firewind Longfists: Nice try.

Firewind Longfists: By the way, F*** OFF. (note: this was uncensored in the original message)

If you see someone try and add you to your Steam friend list without warning, and the user posts messages like this, block all communications, report the user, and unfriend. Apparently, this has happened since late August to various users, if this is anything to go by.

I'm not that paranoid.

I'm saving that one :p but yes, sometimes you're aware that it's a scam but you still want to check it out... that has already happened to me eheh

I used to have a separate linux silly security machine.. just for testing out stuff like that. Funny enough some scammers via chat try to actually help you when you say that their links only provide error messages when you click them.

Ah the good ol days n stuff.

Firewind Longfists: https://goo.gl/YvcWqU

Firewind Longfists: I'm sure you

Firewind Longfists: 'll enjoy it! :D

Of course, I wouldn't post a link to a scam site. See for youself where it leads to.

It goes without saying, but if you see someone attempt this or any other similiar scams, you should block, report, and unfriend.

Just had some joker send me a friend request on Steam. I had no idea who they were but said OK just to see what they tried.

Lo and behold inside an hour I get a message saying "Hey I played (a game I dont own) with you a couple of days ago, and took this great screenshot of you... and a link to a screensaver file.

Said person was blocked, reported and defriended pretty damn quick.

I wonder what the files does...

has anyone stuck it into a virtual machine and also making it isolated?

Just a curios question, don't do it if you don't know what you're doing
