FNIS not working, character locked in 'partial T' position

Question

Posted (edited)

So this is my first time working with Mod Organizer, but I've read through the tutorials and experimented a bit and I believe I have down what *should* be working.

I have FNIS, Momo's acrobatic jump, XP32 skeleton (Groovtama's XPMS Extended), Realistic Ragdolls & Force, FNIS Sexy Move Enhanced Character Edit, and Dual Sheathe Redux installed (Should be the only one's relevant to this bug). Oh, and vwr Acrobat and 360 walk and run plus. , hmm, Player Head tracking shouldn't be an issue? Edit: oh, and Dance of Death is installed too (trying to include all skeleton/animation related mods in this list that i have installed)

I run Dual Sheathe  patcher through MO, then right click Overwrite 'mod' and select Create new Mod, name it DSR Output. I do the same for FNIS, name it FNIS output.

Make sure both of those are selected mods, run the game, and it should work. BUt I have 2 issues:

1) I make sure I've selected Momo's, but FNIS claims it isn't installed. makes no other complaint.

2) When I load my game, my character is stuck in that 'partial T' position (arms out to the side, but not fully up) and doesn't move her limbs at all. Kinda just glides along in this weird rigid pose.

Note: Fresh skyrim install before installing MO, brand new save that I'm reloading for testing because I don't want to keep running through character creation (also using live another life, so at least shorter than normal intro).

Anyway, I have currently deleted those two output folders so that I can run this from scratch after receiving any advice that might help me fix this. If I need to deselect them all and then run Reinstall for each of them in a particular order, I am willing to do that. :)

Yes. :) and I have FNIS for Users selected as an executable to run from inside Mod Organizer (which is I am confused to why it's not seeing Momo's acrobatic jump, which is also loaded into MO so should be seen by anything running in the MO environment)

Oh and welcome to the forums!

I do not recall Momo's being in SR:LE and I haven't used it in forever but you've made sure the plugin is loaded yes (ticked in the plugins tab on the right pane)?

the plugin is loaded. And what is the difference between SR:LE and STEP? your usage is the first i've heard the term, and I googles it but little info so far other than it seems to be a closely related project.

Oh, and to be clear about what you asked before: all plugins are checked, but unlike DSR, FNIS is *not* generating a patch file, so the 'FNIS Output' folder is greyed and in italics (though I've still selected it) as it does not see any content it recognizes as  plugin.

It never does. My FNIS output 'mod' contains 3 folders: meshes, scripts and tools. The meshes folder eventually contains all the behaviour files FNIS is supposed to generate. The Scripts folder contains one .pex file and Tools contains the GenerateFNISforUsers folder and a couple of logs and txts.

When you ran FNIS from MO did it run OK? Didn't give any errors, etc?

Check what's in your FNIS output folder, cause something doesn't look right there. Shouldn't be greyed out.

I have rerun the process to have all the information, and now I have read the process a little more.. there does seem to be issues I hadn't noticed before. It should be seeing the MO environment right?

Oh, and just to be clear, the actual path is:

And inside the overwrite folder, my tree looks like this:

Full tree can be seen in this screen shot here:

In the GenerateFNIS for users pop-up, there's a checkbox list near the bottom, is Momo acrobatic checked there? Along with any others you may have?

It looks like there is another FNIS installed
Generator: C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\data\FNIS Behavior 5.2\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe   That path isn't right, maybe leftover from the reinstall? Have you looked into that path to see if a FNIS is there? Delete it if found

@Dork42

What excellent eyes you have! I mean in spotting the path error, not your, or your avatar's, 'eyes'. Although they do look fine. :O_o:

You are correct, it looks like FNIS is installed directly into the Skyrim Data folder as well as in its own MO folder.

@amborgeson

I think you may have to re-read the wiki on installing mods in MO. If you have come to MO after using another mod manager you most likely have a Data folder littered with mods that shouldn't be there.

This is the correct path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mod Organizer\mods\Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS\FNIS Behavior 5.2\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe

and this shouldn't be there:

C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\data\FNIS Behavior 5.2\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe
