Weird texture issue STEP:Core, and some other stuff.

Question

Posted (edited)

I did a really quick search on the forums regarding this issue, I couldn't find anything related to it. Perhaps it's because at this moment I can't describe it properly, so forgive me if it has been asked already.

Some pictures as they indeed speak a thousand words:

It looks like this particular wall draws 2 different textures, resulting in misalignment. Is this a known issue? Have I done something wrong?

Only place I could find this is the farm outside of Whiterun. All of the small walls there have this issue.

Now, I personally don't mind it, but after having spent so much time installing STEP, I'm afraid I will run into it someplace where it WILL bother me.

Also, I'd like to take the opportunity to present another "issue" I have with Skyrim in general.

That dark corner right there. I completely hate it. Why would a merchant have his wares stored in a dark corner? And the issue is in pretty much every interior in Skyrim more or less. I'm not using any lighting mod at the moment. Is there such a mod that "fixes" that?

EDIT: Regarding the dark corner. It's exactly like that without an ENB as well. I just posted the ENB pic to look pretty :P

The texture issue is a so called UV mapping problem where the mesh does have not taken the size of the texture it is applied to properly into account. Or the texture have not been scaled properly for the mesh. Either way it is a rather bad case of it you got there. You can reduce it by using other textures.

As for the lighting, then that is what lighting overhauls are for. I know ELFX solves that particular one, and I am fairly certain that Relighting skyrim also does!

In general my recommendation is getting one of those two instead of using nothing at all.

Hmm, so it's Skyrim realistic overhaul that is the culprit. Will that method on the sticky (using the console in game and TE5Edit to find said texture) work in order to replace only this particular texture?

Well either it is the texture or the mesh... both can be equally responsible! And the issue could be solved by adjusting either or both.

I believe that particular one is the wrcitywall ones under architecture/whiterun... But I might be mistaken. The method in the sticky should be able to find the correct mesh for ya so you can verify.
