DanielCoffey Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Immersive Fallen Trees Mod is a simple edit of the scenery to add a reasonable number of fallen trees to gullies, canyons and river areas. It does clash with some village overhauls that add extra buildings (such as the area around Riverwood for example) as well as RWT and I note that it has 72 ITMs and a rogue edit in the critterMothType levelled list. While it is very realistic in its implementation, I feel it should be allowed to undergo some tidying up before being used in a seriously modded playthrough. EDIT : I have suggested a list of items for cleaning to the author on the mod's Nexus page. there are a lot of redundant edits. Edited July 12, 2014 by DanielCoffey 1
Shadriss Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Saw this this morning on the Workshop site. Looking at the screens, it looks nice, but I'm not sure it's something I'd ever use. Maybe if I were a screen-archer or the like. But for my two cents, all this would do for me is add more items to be drawn during my trips through Skyrim, and that's not going to affect me significantly enough to feel a need for it.
DanielCoffey Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) The author if this mod does not yet understand about handling conflicts and there is a lot that is untidy in this mod despite an update to address some of it. Unless we are prepared to tidy it ourselves, I cannot recommend the mod in its current form which is a shame as it really is effective. === EDIT : When *thoroughly* cleaned in TES5EDIT and placed at "BOTTOM Landscaping" in BUM, it does indeed work well. I cleared the ITMs, removed the three "thank you for downloading this mod" Notes and their references, cleared every nudged object and every label that had been added for the benefit of the author jumping to POI locations. I also spotted one missing USKP reflection near Whiterun. After this, there was not one single conflict with any mod in SR:LE. Realistic Water Two loaded after it so all the RWT edits were active. Apart from personal preference (that large tree in Riverwood which would quickly be removed by the residents), it works as intended. If you add Village Overhauls you may have to move one or two trees. Edited July 13, 2014 by DanielCoffey
Neovalen Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 You could try getting the author to upload your cleaned version.
DanielCoffey Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Cleaned version is available on the original mod's discussion thread. Here is a link for our own benefit... https://www.dcoffey.co.uk/images/misc/ImmersiveFallenTreesMod.zip I have posted a link to a new version of Jurassic's mod for folks to examine as an example of how it could be cleaned with TES5EDIT.Cleaned version of Immersive Fallen Trees ModThis is a version that I have cleaned to my own preferences rather than Jurassic's original vision. I have resolved the ITMs. I have removed any vanilla objects that were nudged. I have taken out all the POI labels which would have been used to jump from log to log to view the edits. I have cleared any edits that were not part of the mod at all such as the Moth list. Since I personally didn't want to see the Notes, I have removed all three Book records and the reference where they were placed in the world. They could easily be replaced if wanted. I have not moved the Riverwood tree being discussed as I have not looked at it myself yet.Jurassic - if you want to review the cleaned version (and possibly replace the Notes) then upload it as v1.3, feel free. The idea behind your mod is excellent and I am looking forward to using it in my current playthrough. When you encounter a fallen tree and don't notice that it is new, that tells you the intention behind the mod is working. If it feels just right... then the mod is effective.
Smile44 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Mostly but it has the odd tree that will conflict, you can fix this in game by using the console to disable the tree. Riverwood is the main example. There are some move to correct this just depends on the author making the changes or an ETAC / village expaqnsion happy version. 1
DanielCoffey Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 I have suggested he moves that tree downstream over the bridge so that there is only one version to worry about. 1
paradoxbound Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I like it and have it on my watch list but some of the trees don't look like they have fallen naturally but rather placed their by some gaint hand of god.
