Recommended on the Static Mesh Improvement Mod page, and made by the same author as the recently accepted Better Shaped Weapons. A mesh replacer for the enchanting table that dramatically improves the look of the candles on top. It works with existing enchanting table retextures, including the Jecelredued one and the one STEP currently uses.

Must be installed after Ruins Clutter Improved. I think this is a nice improvement akin to SMIM for the enchanting table, no?

Accepted for STEP 2.2.9 Core.

Marked for Testing.

This mod would be really simple to test out in-game - find a enchanting table, and make comparison shots of it with a regular STEP installation, and a STEP installation + this mod. Optionally, compares with vanilla textures can be done.

This is accepted for 2.2.9. It is a clear improvement over what is currently in STEP. Thanks to Will for finding it and thanks to our newest MT, phryxolydian, for posting the screen.

Marking it Core, section 2.K Clutter & Misc, overwrites Ruins Clutter improved. Mod page is going up now too.

EDIT: Okay all set, OP updated, wiki page done. https://wiki.step-project.com/Enchanting_Candle_Meshes_Improved

This mod is not compatible with STEP anymore since SMIM 2-7 and RCI 2.9 share the same candle textures which require RCI's enchanting table meshes to work. Which btw are not included in STEP, leaving users with a broken enchanting table texture on a standard Step install as by the guide. RCI Enchanting table meshes should be part of the step compilation.

There's really no smooth way around this problem making Enchanting Candles Improved mod working again. You can hide dungeon/candle textures in SMIM as well as the Step Compilation, this makes the enchanting table look like intended again, however other SMIM assets require the same textures (i.e. candlebras, candles in lanterns etc). Candles will have black bars on them with regular textures. You can use the candle textures of an older version of RCI which is compatible with Enchanting Candles Improved and let it's candle textures overwrite the Step compililation, but you run into the same problem. Hiding all the assets in SMIM that use these textures is tedious and probably not worth the trouble for the little change that this mod makes.

I've made note of this for the next release.
