Install order a little odd

Question

System Spec:

Core i5-750 @ 3.0 GHz

Ga-P55A-UD3 -- Bus @ 150 MHz

G.Skill Ares 8 GB RAM @ 1500 MHz 9-9-9-24

EVGA GTX 560 Ti SC 1GB

180GB Intel 530 SSD + 640GB WD Caviar Black HHD

Antec Earthwatts 650W

------------------

Haven't started testing mods yet, but have installed through 2.D

------------------

I don't understand something - the STEP guide states you should install the mods in the order they are listed, and benchmark between sections.  But some of the mods in the very first main section (2.D) require mods in later sections.  For example, Trad and Barter and Dual Sheath Redux require SkyUI, which isn't meant to be installed until 2.E.  The STEP Base/Extended Patches require masters that are installed way down the list.  Shouldn't those be at the end, rather than the beginning?

Obviously I can just benchmark without these mods until the appropriate partner mods are installed, but why not have them in the appropriate sections?

Thanks.

Yes benchmark without the mods that require something later down the line. You still install those mods, but make sure that they are unticked in your load order after running BOSS and before you start Skyrim. As you install mods later down the line you can activate them.

Also, it is usually okay to install the fixes and interface sections before a benchmark, but it you are collecting data on your system then it is better to go section by section. Also, the patches are really for after you have completed installing all of STEP Core or Extended.
