Noobsayer Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 On NexusEotW Mage Equipment Overhaul -- Long Mage Robesalso (wasn't sure whether to make another thread)EotW Mage Equipment Overhaul -- College Mage Robes They do have a retexture pack for staves n such as a WIP and plan to add a pack for Psijic etc. too. But those two ^ are finished, for both Male and Female. Since STEP goes for a "vanilla, but better" aesthetic, these retextures fit in beautifully imo. Been running them on a new game and the best example I can give are the robes you find in Helgen. With this mod they still look faded and weathered, but you can see traces of a pretty pattern if you look closely. Colours aren't overly saturated, if the robe says "red robe" it's really red not some other colour. Detailing is pretty but subtle. I've run into no texture weirdness so far and no bad naming (see note about colours above). Here's an image I posted on the Long Mage page to give an idea. Not all patterns are floral.
torminater Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Do Long Mage Robes and College Mage Robes alter different robes or the same?
Redferne Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 They alter different robes, I think. MO doesn't report any conflict between the two.
torminater Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Ok, so the one does the college robes and the other all other robes I guess? Are there any "short" robes not covered by this mod?
Redferne Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 No, I guess by long robe the author meant the one that doesn't look like tunic which are also called "robe" in the game. I'm not sure what I just wrote make sense :) Anyway both are complementary.
torminater Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I think it might make sense to some, but not to me unfortunately. So may I guess that all enchanted pieces of robes are affected by a combination of those 2 mods? As for the retexture, I do like it. It stays pretty close to vanilla, although it might be a little too decorative for some. Also the pics on the mod page don't make it a lot easier to estimate how far the author went with the retexture (different ENBs, AA-methods, lighting mods, settings and don't forget all the anime characters...)
Redferne Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Ah sorry, English isn't my first language so sometimes things get lost in translation or make perfect sense but just for me :) Now that I'm back home I can answer more accurately. College robe include: magejourneyrobe, mageapprentice and archmage Long robe include: warlock, necromancer and monk The mod is just retexture so I think it affects enchanted robes as well.
Noobsayer Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 The only robes that appear to not be covered (and will be covered in a separate pack) are the special ones like psijiic (probably butchered that) and greybeard. The "long" robes are the plain ones and the "college" are indeed the tunic-and-pants look. For instance, the robes you find in Helgen are "college" robes. So to get the full range of robes covered, use both mods. :) While some of the pics on the mod page are a little dark, and I do have an ENB in mine, I looked at them with ENB toggled off and they still look nice imo. The green robe I posted is the most "decorative" I've run into; most seem to be subtle geometric patterns.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Looks good to me. I will be installing this. I'll try to post some screens when I get a working STEP game going.
Octopuss Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 These mods are merged into one now, unless I am reading it wrong.EotW Mage Robes of SkyrimI think I will try it, it looks awesome. Kryptopyr also released compatibility patch for her Clothing fixes today.
statmonster Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 The merged pack also includes Psijiic and Greybeard robes. Seems nice.
DoYouEvenModBro Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 The two standalone mods don't cover greybeard robes btw. It must have been added in the merged mod. But it is confirmed that this mod covers the other two standalone ones for long robes and college robes?
statmonster Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I saw the the two extra robes in there when I installed it. BRW, I also like the author's Virtus Imperii (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34321) which re textures Imperial armor and weapons. I've started using his re textures of Stormcloak gear and Dawnguard weapons too.
Neovalen Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 EotW has a lot of gems I'm looking at for SR:LE coming soon.
Allsunday Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 So he has Long Robes and College Robes. He also has Robes of Skyrim, and this one is a merge between Long Robes and College Robes PLUS greybeard and Psijiic robes? That's just messy :P.By the way, I love his work and I'm going to check his other mods right now. EDIT: Robes of Skyrim has a Hearthfire addon. I think it's the same addon you find in the Long Robes page.
