Problem with 'Set the Installation Order'

RJA88

Question

Hello guys and girls,

I'm new here. I used to play Skyrim with a bunch of mods last year, but things got messy and my saves fot corrupted. :)

Now I want to get back into Skyrim using S.T.E.P. and Wrye Bash. The guide looks complicated, but I hope I will manage.

However I'm running into a problem pretty early in the installation. I downloaded al mods from section D and renamed them with prefixes. Then I selected al those mods from D and right clicked, move to 0. The order should be more or less the same as in this picture from the guide. https://wiki.step-project.com/images/6/6d/WB_Figure10.jpg but that is not the case with me. Mine are all messed up. D01Appropriately Attired Jarls-23793-1-1-1 for example is number 24, D17ArgonianSneakTailTwistFix-32949-1-1 is number 4. (I'm sorry I don't know how to insert screenshots on a forum)

Can anyone explain why my order numbers are different? Does it actually matter? Before I continue I would like to be sure I'm not off to a wrong start.

If i understand then you can order them one by one after moving them to zero. Wrye won't know what order to put all the files it just moves them where you say. Just drag and place the files in the correct place. I suggest doing a section at a time, then start the game to see if everything starts up okay.

My apologies. I lost track of my thread here as I was preoccupied with other things. I'm thinking about buying a new pc, as mine is more than 4 years old now. So I might wait and save myself the hassle of installing Skyrim and S.T.E.P. twice.

I thought that mods were supposed to go automatically in roughly the same order as in the guide. I'm glad to know it's okay if I reorder them myself.

Thank you very much for you answer.
