CBBE installer failing

When I attempt to install CBBE I just get a never-ending installation screen.

Is there a workaround besides installing manually?

More info is needed, which window is never ending, the Mod organizer "Running installer" window or the actual Install cbbe window. If it is the first one then I have to ask which version of MO are you running?

 

In versions prior to 1.0.12 the install window would not raise above any full screen window and the icon would not appear in the task bar. This appears to be fixed in v1.0.12. Try to minimize any full screen windows or alt tab to see if you can switch to it.

I get the window that says an external installer is running with the blue bar moving back and forth . . . and then that just continues and never stops.

I have downloaded Calientes Beautiful Bodies Edition -CBBE- by Caliente (CBBE 3.2.3) to test this for you. Using MO 1.0.12. After I say install, it takes about 30-35 seconds on my system before I get the windows with install options. It also pops to the foreground. After that it installs. I have tried 'fomod installer' and the NCC based 'fomod installer (external)', both work. To switch from the default 'fomod installer' go to the plugin settings and change setting 'prefered'  from true to false for the 'fomod installer'. Perhaps a few others could try to install it as well. That way we see if there are others with your problem.

 

Could you create a fresh MO install and then download CBBE 3.2.3 in it and see if it works then. Remember you can have multiple MO installs which do NOT interact with each other. I have 6 MO installs on my system, some for testing stuff out like the NMM importer.

 

Please create a ticket for it in the issue tracker so Tannin can have a look at it.

I tried installing a fresh CBBE download and that worked.

I guess the previous download must have been incomplete somehow.

The CBBE installer has the magical ability to pop up in the background and NOT show up in the task bar. You will only see it by alt-tabbing.

I have no clue how it did that but it does.

 

Previous versions of MO tried to bring the window to foreground by polling the window list for the installer process and bring the window to front as soon as it appears but there was still a bug with that.

1.0.12 fixes that.

 

tl;dr: The installer has probably worked before but you probably didn't see the window.

Maybe, but the download time of the second attempt was far slower(The first time I got CBBE in about 5 seconds, the second download took several minutes), which makes me suspect something went wrong with the download. Especially since I didn't see any kind of CBBE installer in the task manager on the first attempt, which I should if it's a separate installer.
