Alik'r warriors missing weapons. Would appreciate some help.

Hello,

 

Apologies if this is a support forum for NON-mod related queries. Please move the thread if it's in the wrong place.

 

 

Bit of a long shot this one. I'm not even remotely sure which mod is causing the issue...

 

The Alik'r Warriors (including Kematu) in the mission "In My Time Of Need" are all missing weapons. They're only armed with their fists. If memory serves they normally have Scimitars?

 

Anyone have any ideas?

Which STEP build do you use (Performance, Baseline, Extreme)

Mostly baseline with some elements extreme.

 

Did you follow STEP instructions to the letter?

I installed pretty much every 'Core mod' in the order on the web site up until about one third of the way through 2G here: https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.7. I then stopped installing everything and spot picked a few more mods from the STEP list.

Yes, many, as listed in my LO above. I appreciate this doesn't help you guys much.

 

Tell us if you applied any INI tweaks that are not part of STEP process

Obviously I appreciate that with a mod set up as varied as, well, any mod set up ever put together you're going to have a tough time figuring out the issue. As with any mod related query I was hoping that someone may have experienced the same issue.

 

I'd be grateful for anyone's thoughts though.

You got me there... :D

 

Anyway, looking at your plugin list, I would say you have to look at: Immersive Weapons.esp and qotsfans's patch. I use them too (kind of, I personalised qotsfan's patches, to my liking) and use my own versions. I think I know how to solve your problems, however you use a few mods I've never used, that MAY be the culprits here.

 

Firstly though, a few comments:

 

1. Clean all the dirty mods you have. Cleaning guide is available

. All the ones that BOSS tells you to - APART from Immersive Armors.

2. Why are all those mods after ReProccer? Did BOSS put them there?

I'm 100% BOSS would not put SkyRe_EnemyAI afer ReProccer. Do not alter BOSS sorting order, unless you 100% sure you know what you're doing.

 

Ok, now, did you ever used TES5EDIT to find conflicts? If so, load up all your mods into T5E and check Immersive Weapons.esp to find conflicts. If you don't feel comfortable with patching or if you never used T5E, let me know and we'll go from there.

 

As a final note, I will say that you have extremely conflict prone set up and I can tell you now that you WILL run into problems sooner or later without custom, manually created patches for all those mods. I use quite a similar set up to yours. If you want, check it out (see my STEP page in my signature, then go to Skyrim Builds) and let me know if you want to use it - if so, I can provide you with my customised patches. I didn't run into any problems so far, and my character is level 17 or 18 now. So far it's safe and stable, no issues at all.

Actually, BOSS would put the listed ESPs there. SkyRe_EnemyAI.esp is placed after ASIS/ReProccer so that the changes from that mod overrride ASIS's AI changes. Also, all of Qot's patches would be loaded after the Reproccer.

My mistake then, apologies. I don't use ASIS, and BOSS places SkyRe enemy module before ReProccer. Couple of qotsfan's patches were also placed before ReProccer in my case. I can't remember which ones though.

Howdy,

 

Thanks for the replies so far. I've followed the youtube cleaning guide (the guy explains things nicely!). So far I've ONLY done it for the .esm files that BOSS recommends.

 

Should I do exactly the same thing for all the .esp's that BOSS recommends as well?

 

With respect to using TES5Edit for conflict matching please treat me as completely ignorant. I have messed about with FO3Edit and NVEdit before but haven't actually made any changes. How would I go about finding and repairing conflicts using TES5Edit?

 

(My LO has not been altered at all, I only ever let BOSS sort it.)

1. Thanks for the offer of using your own edited patches rootsrat. For the time being I'll try and salvage this set up, simply because I can't face going through a clean install > mods again any time soon.

 

2. Also, does carrying out this cleaning mean I should rebuild the bashed patch and run the java patchers again?

 

3. Whilst on the subject of the java patchers and with respect to the follow .eps's; "Pre Automatic Variants ST IC Patch.esp", "PreASISPatchIW.esp" & "Pre ReProccer WA Fixes UU IW aMidianSS IA Patch.esp". I'm assuming that the latter should be activated in Wrye BEFORE you run their respective patchers?

I've been doing some searching in TES5Edit, haven't changed anything yet but I was wondering if ASIS is somehow causing the issue. (Please keep in mind that I might be waaaay of the target here:
