Strange focus/lighting/something problem around Solstheim

Question

This only happens around Solstheim, around the Ravins Rock area.

I am running full step with the addition of:

ELFX

CoT

Skyrealism ENB (the issue still persists even when turning ENB off so it is not SkyRealism (maybe something to do with enb .201?))

GPU: 7970 vapor-x 3gb (happens with or without overclock)

CPU: i5 2500k @ 4.5 ghz

RAM: 8 GB 1600

PSU: 700W

OS:  Windows 7 64bit

Its part of the vanilla game when you enter solstein... it should go away after a while.

In one of my last tests.... months ago then it took it almost 5 mins before it went away... guessed it was because of some sort of game lag. Just like if you got too many mods running in the helgen start then it can also mess up timings etc.

Any reason why it only happens around raven rock? It doesn't happen around other areas of Solstheim. Also, I've been to Solstheim many times in my game. It's not the first trip. Strange. Could it be an active affect that's stuck? Is it night eye?

No its the ingame "motion blur" however it is a static effect instead of true motion blur.

Its an effect that is put on you when you enter that area... for special effect. However it should only happen the first time afaik... .but my experience with DB is limited. I do know that it vanish again after a while.... try to go indoor and out again for example.

Ok thanks. I'll keep ya posted on if it goes away.

Okay I made a mistake... did a bit more research since I kinda did not believe in my own idea here!

The reason is wet and cold, watery eyes, under ashes. I mistakenly thought it was part of the normal game when I first came to Solsteim since it also has a similar effect. It only happens during dust/ash storms and similar.

Sorry for any confusion! :)

No problem! Thanks so much for the follow up. How'd you figure it out?

Was messing around with skin textures, and hence playing with the wet and cold features since they affect skin when there are storms.

After activating the watery eyes.. then the effect activated and voila.

Have also been playing around and running around Solsteim testing out my ENB for the past few days... so thought I would find out just how that effect was activated... just to be a 100% sure of what I am saying!

Ohhh. Well nice find! Just out of curiosity, which enb/lighting mods are you using?

My own ENB

CoT for exterior, and Solstheim climate overhaul for that location.

ELFX + Relighting skyrim for interiors. Relighting Skyrim has been modifed with ELFX values, and only affect cells that ELFX have not got around to yet.

Does that include solstheim?

How do you get it to work with ELFX? It says on the mod page that they're incompatible

That is true this is why I got Relighting Skyrim to take care of that, but it does so by using the same color scheme as ELFX does... mostly.

So you installed both ELFX and Relighting Skyrim and just let Boss sort the esps? Which options for relighting skyrim did you use? Also, Solstheim Climate Overhaul looks awesome. I'm definitely going to install that. Debating whether to use the compatibility patch with CoT Dragonborn or just to use Solstheim Climate Overhaul only.

No... I installed ELFX, downloaded RS.. then made a bizzare tes5edit ritual on it to remove all conflicts and altered a few color values etc.

I use the CoT patch for SCO... since I like both of them to show up. Gets kinda boring with the same ol ash storm over and over.

Ohh ok. I guess I'm going to have to man up and figure out how to remove conflicts in tes5edit. I actaully RMAd my GPU today in order to rule out the GPU causing that crash once and for all. Guess I can jump into this again in about 2 weeks.
