MO + Optimizer Textures and Immersives armors

Question

Posted

Hi, i'm back :p

I just finished to install all STEP recommended mods with MO ( really easy when u know how to use it :p )

But a got a couple of questions before launch FNISBehavior et play to Skyrim

1) I'm not english so I prefer ask before doing something wrong, I read this 'Note: Users only need to run Fore's New Idles for Skyrim if also using the Maximum Skeleton, or other mods that support/require Fore's New Idles. For STEP, this applies to Dual Sheath Redux, which was listed in the Fixes section above. Disregard this mod if Dual Sheath Redux was not installed.'

Does that mean I have to launch FNIS only once for XP32 AND Dual Sheath Redux? I dont have to use the Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar?

2) I want to use Optimizer Textures but I don't know how to use it with MO and the fact that all mods are separate and there is no 'textures' folder in data or in MO/mods folder ( I googled it and post on  the page of the mod on Skyrim Nexus but no response for the moment so I try here )

3) For Immersive Armors, I know the mods isnt recommended by STEP but I try here anyway ( and like for the second question, I asked it on the Immersive Armors page on SKyrim Nexus )

So, the problem is that MO always disable the esp. file of the mod, even if I save my load order with Immersive Armors enabled, someone can explain me how to fix this?

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english.

Yes, when you run GenerateFNISforUsers.exe it takes care of all mods using FNIS.

I dont have to use the Dual Sheath Redux Patch.jar?

This is for a Skyproc patch for Dual Sheath Redux which needs to be run in addition to GenerateFNISforUsers.exe.

2) I want to use Optimizer Textures but I don't know how to use it with MO and the fact that all mods are separate and there is no 'textures' folder in data or in MO/mods folder ( I googled it and post on  the page of the mod on Skyrim Nexus but no response for the moment so I try here )

I don't use MO myself, and I'm not sure whether Optimizer Textures can be used with MO since MO creates virtualized directories instead of directly adding textures to the Skyrim\Data\Textures folder. Someone who uses MO can answer. Most people on these forums use DDSopt for optimization which is designed to work on individual mods. DDSopt is much more capable than Optimizer Textures but it is also more difficult to use.

3) For Immersive Armors, I know the mods isnt recommended by STEP but I try here anyway ( and like for the second question, I asked it on the Immersive Armors page on SKyrim Nexus )

I think I can help you with 2).

First off, I'd recommend using the DDSopt guide: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:DDSopt

I didn't manage to figure out how to do Optimize Textures with MO, but DDSopt gives you a lot of control with which you should be able to do what you want.

Basically after you follow the guide, you've got optimized textures, and you can easily use MO to overwrite the unoptimized ones, either by installing it as a different mod (what I did with the High Resolution DLC and default Vanilla Textures) or (and I'm not sure about this since I'm busy with it myself) by copying it over in the mod folder in your Mod Organizer folder.

As an added benefit, DDSopt should be even better then OT.

The fast is I can't use DDOpt, on one of my other post, someone told me to not use DDSOpt if I dunno what I want to do with it.. :/

Thanks for responses

Kalenden Do u got an idea for the 3) ? I mean its just the fact that MO always disable a mod

I dunno if u had this problem too...

Okay thanks anyway

It seems that Skyrim is barely ok now, I fixed the trees problem i got, it seems that i have to install SFO entirely with the vurt_pine but whatever

I got only one problem again, I don't know where is it from, I explain:

I launched Skyrim after running the patch from Dual Sheath Redux and FNIS, so I was at the caractere creation but I cant create him because of a weird blur switching with the first plan ( the caractere's head ) and the second plan, the wall of Helgen and so on... where is that blur come from? Any idea? I installed Sharpshooter ENB but I did it too last time, when i was using NMM and didnt got this problem

Hope u understand my poor english
