My carry weight is off by 170...

Question

Posted

I am attaching a picture for reference.  I thought my carry weight seemed really high, and I always assumed quest items don't actually contribute the weight.  I emptied everything from my inventory except the untouchable quest items and I am at 170/565 Carry weight.  If I have to use the console to fix this that's fine with me, I just don't know what command would work..  I don't see using the console to fix a bug as cheating.

Not to mention that unless math has changed recently, what you have does not total 170.

I know some mods use a script that changes your carry weight by adding then removing a hidden item.

I believe it is a "hack" to work around the broken Slow effect. Perhaps you updated or removed one such mod that has now gone haywire?

That is one of the reasons I wanted their mod list. Also if you're playing on a file that you've removed a mod from that in and of itself may be the problem.

Mod list please. Attach BOSS log (7zipped) to your next post (click new reply)

I must admit I am new to Skyrim modding. What do I do to get the Boss log? Also did you want me to attach the log and include a modlist?

That was one of the things I found odd too.

This file I started clean. Fresh Formatted drive and Skyrim install. I followed 2.2.4 and got most of the mods from there. I then added some non-lore friendly mods after. I have not removed any mods, added any mods, or updated my Skyrim or any mods since starting this character.

Unless it is really REALLY immersion breaking for you (Which I doubt since you say you use non lore freindly mods) then just play on. Carry weight is easy enough to get silly large amounts of.

If you really want to solve it then you have to try to reproduce said error. If it is like this from the start of a fresh game then you have a mod error somewhere. However if it happened during the game at some point then it might be a weird bug etc, that would be rather hard to track down. All depends on how happy you are with your current play-through.

If you really want the issue solved then we do need your load order, and total mod list. Most mod managers can produce them. Just put them in a post using spoiler tags (Search for "BBcode spoiler" and you will get helpful sites).

To post your BOSS log, run boss and on the left side of the window where it says "Output Options" select "Plain Text" instead of HTML. Then run boss, when it is done it will open the log and you can copy and paste it into spoiler tags like below:

[spoiler]paste it here[/spoiler]

If you are using Convenient Horses, the auto loot feature might be the cause, I just noticed the Author asking for a feature from SKSE that will allow them to prevent picking up unplayable equipment. I'm sure it only applies to full auto loot though, not the one that opens the window and probably not manually looting from horseback either.
