I am using STEP 2.2 no ENB, and am using the console command to get Staff of Magnus, but its sphere is black (I remember it should be white).

How I can fix that?

Let me check my game. What is the console command to add it?

player.additem 35369 1

For reference, this is vanilla + USSEP:

The orb and tail end are greenish blue and glowing. There is a swirling effect around the orb. The appearance is the same whether the staff is charged or depleted.

Side note: I don't think the OP is running pure STEP. Staves on back is not a feature included in STEP AFAIK.

Yeah, it is not pure STEP, but the texture/mesh from the staff sure is the same 100% with STEP. The staff in the back is from simple dual sheath

I haven't checked in game, but in Step, the assets are provided by aMidianborn Content Addon.

Thanks for your reply, it helps me to realize which mod caused it

It is from aMidianborn Book of Silence Texture, but because in the current STEP it is hidden in the BSA file. This is reason why I haven't detected it until now

Thanks a lot anyway >.<

if you are using Mod Organizer, you can click Configuration (screwdriver/wrench icon), Workarounds tab, and check Enable archive parsing (experimental). This allows you to see the assets in BSA files when looking at asset conflicts (double click a mod in the left pane and select the Conflicts tab) and in the Data tab in the right pane. The one caveat is that it won't show assets in the base game archives because these are huge and require too much time to parse.

Just to be clear, I don't think its an issue with this texture or NIF. Check that nothing else is providing these.

aMidianborn Book of Silence changes it from greenish blue to a black square. You can try to remove it to see yourself. Personally, I don't think it is vanilla-style.

Looking at @Mousetick's screenshot, this doesn't seem to be the case.

EDIT: I'll need to check in-game against vanilla when I am able.

He clearly said it is from For reference, this is vanilla + USSEP: => this is not STEP setup

I guess you don't believe me after all, but please try to see it in-game for STEP setup once

This is vanilla + USSEP + WACCF + CCORAMB Content Addon for CCOR (I don't have a pure STEP setup to compare, but this is close enough in this case):

So this look definitely comes from aMidianborn Book of Silence. Yeah, it's not like vanilla. I have no idea what the reasoning and intent were for this change, it's a bit strange. From what I understand, this particular model was added late to the collection and its textures were not created by Cabal (the main Book of Silence MA) but by another MA, EmeraldReign.

I see now and should have just checked the textures. The answer: extract and use the vanilla glow map or whatever it is you don't like. Alternatively, use a combination of textures from any number of other mods. Loose files will always win over the AMB archive assets.

Top is vanilla, bottom is AMB
