Noisy Skeletons

I installed the STEP guide and just went into a dungeon.  I don't know which mod is altering this, but the skeletons in these dungeons are uncomfortably loud.  Even worse, the sound persists even when I am nowhere near them - I'm talking I'm literally a floor or two below with several walls and ceilings in between and they sound like they are not only beside me, but are running their bone grinding through an amplifier so bad it drowns out everything else!  Any ideas what mod needs tweaking to actually get these under control?

For the time being, I've "solved" this by installing the No Skeleton Idle Sound mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30542) which gets rid of those noises entirely. If anyone has a clue as to how to just lower the volume while keeping the sound, it would be appreciated!

Maybe its from Kajuan's skeleton mod, on the STEP guide it states "Install selecting the Skin, clutter without sounds option", check if you chose that option.

This is likely the problem; otherwise, it would be one of the STEP audio mods in that section. Disable those to check (noting anything that's in the STEP Patch, which will be a bit more complicated to check).
