The diffuse is currently provided by Cathedral - Plants ... is that suboptimal?

The normal is provided by SSEUT (currently in testing).


Not sure that we need a replacer for this, so just asking for rationale, as I think it is not worth the trouble otherwise.

I know, but 'different' isn't always better. I'm asking if the existing textures are less than ideal in some way or if we've been waiting for a better option that is more consistent with vanilla/STEP. These textures make the creep cluster appear redder than Cathedral - Plants. Not sure offhand if that is more consistent with vanilla or not (or CL for that matter).


If the current mods are providing what we like and there's no issues, then there doesn't seem to be a good reason to consider this option, given how trivial it is.

When has "trivial" ever stopped us? Haha!  :lol:


CL and Cathedral Plants are just vanilla textures that have been processed via ESRGAN. They're better than CSSET, imo, because CSSET has LE's fake shadowing that doesn't mix well with SE's lighting.

Yeah that red makes the plant stick out very poorly. It somehow reminds me of morrowind level textures..

      Not too long ago I modded my game after following the current STEP guide for SSE. After that, over time I added a few more mods not included in the guide and one of the ENB presets suggested in the guide for Cathedral Weathers, namely A Cathedralist's ENB. I downloaded and installed the high-quality main file from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/25296?tab=files . I have been playing the game during weeks without game-breaking issues and the ENB has been working fine.
      Very recently, however, I have noticed that the brightness output level in-game has suddenly shrunk. I have started to see things darker while I am playing. I play in exclusive fullscreen mode. However, any changes in the in-game brightness slider do nothing while I am playing. But if I quit to the main menu, there the previously adjusted brightness level is apparent. In other words, any changes made to the in-game brightness only reflect themselves while in the main menu, not while I am playing. Is that normal? Does it happen because I have installed ENB 0.462 and the aforementioned preset? Of course, I can always adjust the brightness levels in the in-game ENB menus. But it puzzles me that any changes made to the vanilla brightness slider only are apparent once I quit to the main menu of the game.

      I'm following the STEP guide for SSE.  I've gotten to the H segment of the Models & Textures section.  A couple of these have not had an ESP file.
      Do I need to have it ticked in the left window of MO2?  I'm up to 85 mods enabled now, just following the guide, and I'm concerned that I'll reach the 255 limit before I'm done.
      I've used the search function in the forums, but there are hundreds of results for "no esp".
