There's a revised 'fixed' edition of this mod created by another author. Not sure about this one so will need to investigate:

EDIT: Looking a tt he comments, there are likely issues with this mod. Both in terms of permissions as well as edits made.

I really wish they had made it a simple plugin replacer instead of completely replacing the mod. BTW, your link is wrong.

Book Covers Skyrim Update is opted in to receive donation points whereas the rights on Book Covers Skyrim explicitly requires permission from DanielCoffee to earn donation points if it uses assets from Book Covers Skyrim. Given the vagueness of what's actually fixed, the wholesale use of Book Covers Skyrim BSA, and conflicts with USSEP, I'm not getting all warm and fuzzy with this mod.

This new BCS updated mod is not made with AE version of USSEP in mind. Author said its made for SE 1.5.97

This was exactly my thoughts. It would be one thing if he just patched the plugin, but he bundles the entire mod unnecessarily.
