disi 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) You should have told me that was the error message. I could easily have directed you to that solution. Added the following to the instructions so people don't have this issue:Please ensure that your screen resolution in the Launcher is selected correctly!I gave it another shot:1. deleted skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini everywhere2. ran your installer3. the launcher crashed during install (I guess it is because of enb)4. anyway, it went through5. copied the new skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini into my mod organizer profile folder6. installed tweaks7. chose enb optimized shadow and some other things like steroids optimized grass8. bFloatPointRenderTarget wasn't set to 1 -> crash/freeze9. it seems now, not a single papyrus script is running or running properly, i.e. Immersive Hud is not working and Vilja is naked10. the game freezes after about a minute complete rollback:0. remove the Ini Tweaks from MO amd delte initweaks.ini from your MO profiles1. delete all skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini in documents\my games\skyrim and your mod organizer profiles2. copy your backup skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini into documents\my games\skyrim3. launch the skyrim launcher from Steam -> options and change it to a proper aspect ratio like 16:9 and resolution4. cleaning up the programs folder:- delete <SkyrimFolder>\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini and rename <SkyrimFolder>\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini.original back- delete <SkyrimFolder>\Skyrim_default.ini amd remame <SkyrimFolder>\Skyrim\Skyrim_default.ini.original back5. launch Skyrim normal through MO6. wait a moment for the scripts to kick in... my working papyrus settings: [Papyrus]fUpdateBudgetMS=1.2 ; <--- script-heavy setup and your scripts start to perform badly? increase to 1.6 (then 2.0 at max).fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=1.2fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0iMinMemoryPageSize=128iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800bEnableLogging=0bEnableTrace=0bLoadDebugInformation=0bEnableProfiling=0 better :) https://i.imgur.com/p5ECdT2.jpg Edited September 21, 2015 by disi
DoubleYou 12 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 My INIs are at the default values. Any tweaks you need must be placed back into the INI files or you will fail. And you're not supposed to delete any INIs during the installation process. This will certainly make you fail. ENB will not crash the launcher. Only deleting your INIs like you're not supposed to or instructed to will crash the Skyrim Launcher.

DoubleYou 12 Report post Posted September 22, 2015 What I need to know is exactly what your backup INIs are. Could you paste their full contents in spoilers. Also, I really am concerned about this Launcher crash. If the Launcher crashes, please ensure that Skyrim\skyrim_default.ini and Skyrim\Skyrim\SkyrimPrefs.ini exists. Also, have you experienced the Launcher crashing before? If so, is there some other thing (not enb) that could be causing it to crash? Does running the SkyrimLauncher outside of the spawned process of my installer cause it to crash? Also, you might try the beta file in the Miscellaneous section to see if that behaves differently for you. Also I need to know exactly which spINI Tweaks you activated. Your papyrus settings exactly replicate the default values, which is what spINI will give you, except it won't state it explicitly in the INI, since defaults are defaults until you change them. The goal of this mod is to avoid the issues you describe, so if it causes them, I very much am interested in how that can happen.

The next thing I see after some time the spinning mouse cursor on a white or black background, is application crash and if I want to close the program. Doing so, I see your installer, which tells me "Finish". From here on, it is impossible for me to change the resolution in the Skyrim launcher, because it keeps trying to run the hardware detection and crashes before I can change anything. If I copy your inis into the MO profile folder, then they crash as well, trying to auto-detect the hardware. Following the steps in my previous post (deleting inis in MO profile and restoring everything), I can run the Skyrim launcher and change/choose a resolution again. DoubleYou 12 Report post Posted September 22, 2015 Ah, well that explains the crashing with my INIs. You have uGridToLoad set to 7, which will cause crashing on a save game if you change it back to its default value of 5, which spINI will do. Anybody messing with uGridToLoad should know that, but Ewi was quite rash with his INIs. Half of his settings don't do anything. And then some of his settings do something not good. His INIs are like SMPC to the USKP. Unfortunately you can't just get rid of all of them, as they get embedded into your save and cause issues if removed. I see I should probably add bFloatRenderTarget to my spINI tweaks so people don't forget. Your using my Steroids version of Grass, which I think you have mistakenly thought would be better. The Steroids version is for Grass on Steroids and Verdant users. I probably should go into more detail on those tweaks in the description. Perhaps the Launcher crashing problem is due to ENB, as I just enabled the ENB dll and it took forever to work and even stopped responding for a moment, although it never crashed. So to sum up what you should do to get your INIs working: In Skyrim.ini, add in their indicated sections: [General] uGridsToLoad=7 uExterior Cell Buffer=64 uInterior Cell Buffer=32 iPreloadSizeLimit=262144000 [SaveGame] bUseSaveGameHistory=1And SkyrimPrefs.ini [Display] bFloatPointRenderTarget=1 bFull Screen=1 iSize H=1080 iSize W=1920 Then use these spINI tweaks: Anisotropic Filtering - DisabledAntialiasing - DisabledDepth of Field - DisabledGrass - Optimized grass (no steroids)Intro Sequence RemovalMap Menu - Blur RemovalMap Menu - OptimizedScreenshots DisabledShadows - ENB Optimized HighShadows - Land shadows enabledShadows - Tree Shadows enabledTutorials - DisabledDon't use any of the other tweaks. I'll see if I can't update spINI Tweaks with these.
disi 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) I knew about the uGridsToLoad, but it should at least get to the menu? One of the reasons I wanted a clean restart with my inis anyway ;) OK, so I run your installer. Then alter the inis in the documents folder as advised. Is it save to just delete the inis in the profiles folder of MO, so it picks a new copy?I may then once try to start Skyrim, see if I get to the menu. Finally install and activate the tweaks as you suggest.Cross all toes and fingers I've got and try to launch Skyrim! p.s. well, when I get home... pps. OK! -removed the d3d9.dll from the Skyrim folder-ran the installer and everything went smooth this time-started the launcher without mod organizer and Skyrim set me auto to ultra high-applied the ugrid and enb settings to the ini files in documents-removed the old inis from the mod organizer profiles folder-put the d3d9.dll back into the Skyrim folder-started Skyrim via mod organizer and loaded the savegame just fine-installed the ini tweaks and chose the ones you suggested, but I actual have Grass on Steroids and enabled those tweaks (forgot it in the old ini)-endless loading screen-disabled different tweaks until I found the one causing it: Map Menu - Optimized.ini-enabled the tweak again, just to be sure... endless loading screen-disabled it again and load fine-works now and bang, I have a few fps more, a really cool dark cloudy morning and no stutter :) https://i.imgur.com/Bb5OHWI.jpg I am now taking a ride from Riften to Windhelm and check how it behaves... thanks for your persistence! DoubleYou 12 Report post Posted September 23, 2015 @disiPlease try the new version and see if you have near as much trouble. @darksideIf you use Mod Organizer, I have included an INI tweak for ENB users. Nevertheless, you should always add the INI tweaks recommended by Boris and/or your preset author.
Spock 22 Report post Posted September 23, 2015 Thank you very much for all your time and effort at ini research! I didn't actually launch the executable as I like to work with my ini files myself. Some small addition: Depth of Field - DisabledIf this does what I think it does (bDoDepthOfField), it should be enabled with ENB. At least with oder versions of ENB it was required for proper under water effects. Such things can take quite some time to find out :/It might be a good idea to add an ENB option that sets:bDoDepthOfField=1bFloatPointRenderTarget=1bShadowsOnGrass=1bTreesReceiveShadows=1bDrawLandShadows=1iShadowMapResolution=2048fShadowDistance=6500.0000+ some good bias scale, shadow mask, shadow mask quater and shadow mode (I used to leave those at ultra default but there is probably a better setting)With ENB shadows 2048 shadow resolution is more then enough on 1600p. If you want to save performance on an older card, use 1024. When ENB handles the filtering the resolution doesn't seem to impact quality by much. I only use 2048 because it costs only 0.5 fps on my card. Distance however does seem to impact quality regardless of resolution. I found 8000 to be simply too much. hishutup 86 Report post Posted September 23, 2015 Would it be possible to a few FOV tweaks(75,80,85,90,95,100)
DoubleYou 12 Report post Posted September 23, 2015 His ini had it disabled, so I mirrored that. I already have enb shadow tweaks. They can be easily altered if desired. FOV tweaks are a good idea. There's a formula to alter it with screen resolution I might employ.
