Main Menu turns to black screen on launch

I'm suffering a real weird bug. When I launch the game, the main screen shows up as normally but after a couple of seconds the screen goes totally black. I can hear the music playing as normal, but the screen remains black, forcing me to use Task manager to get back to Windows.

 

   I started deactivating plugins to try to find the culprit, but it seems that it's not related to a particular mod, but to the numbers of plugin active. It seems that once I surpass a certain limit (around 170) the problem happens. If I am below that limit, main screen shows up as usual and the game starts up normally.

 

   Any ideas?

Are you running a game overlay program in the background such as the one from Nvidia or AMD? These cause many problems, as mentioned in the guide.

This sounds similar to my problem.  I posted something similar.  I turned off all of the overlays.
